wayyy too many mysteries and the characters are evolving. that's what makes HEROES worth staying for!! (:
  • Hmmmm · 1 month ago
The new Hero, her power is pretty cool. But I wonder how it will be that important in the grand scheme of things? Maybe Peters new girlfriend?
  • heykey4 · 1 month ago
I don't trust that new roommate of Claire's....she's trouble.
  • Nijn88 · 1 month ago
I suspect she has something to do with Claire's other roommate killing herself.... I don't trust her either!
  • B A T M A N · 1 month ago
i think she works for the Carnival peeps.

Am I the only one who thought that last night's episode was absolutely terrible? That new girls power is not cool at all, nor is it relevant to anything I want to see this season. I was excited after the season premiere but after this episode I can understand why the ratings are dropping so much...What a shame this show had so much potential. This may have been my last heroes episode I watch...
  • navygater · 1 month ago
I thought the new girls power was very cool. Also seeing as how you are not a writer you have no idea if her power is relevant or not to the story line. How is it that any time a fan is not happy with one episode the show seems to lose all its potential .... if that was the case the show woul not have made it to season 4. Also i doubt this will be your last episode, because we all have questions we want answered and watching is the only way it will happen. Loved last nights episode! Well done Heroes taking it nice and slow just like season1 :)
  • Nijn88 · 1 month ago
And I think the most people who are bitching about Heroes already, are pretty impatiently.. Just wait and see where the show takes us.. If in the end it still doesn't make sense, okay, then we all bitch about it.. But after 3 eps, no.. ;)

    Anyways..
The deaf girl is kind of interesting, wonder how her power evolves, if it does.
I don't really get what Samuel wants from Peter?! Is it his powers? His body? Does anyone get that?? I'm from Holland and I sometimes don't understand what's been said.. cuz there are no subtitles and the sound isn't always that good... :( Soo maybe I'm missing something???
  • navygater · 1 month ago
None of us really know why Samuel wants Peter for sure he seems to want to bring him in as one of the "family" to me but beyond that I am not sure what his purpose will be...
  • jasontb · 1 month ago
Hi Nijn, im also from Holland, but I live in the United States. I think the deaf girls power is to somehow mesmerize or hypnotise people, maybe even bring world peace! I think Samuel wants to recruit Peter into his circus family to gain power if that's his goal. You should try to download the Heroes episodes and just skip back whenever u feel like u missed a certain phrase or scene.
    Spreeek je later gast!;) :p

The deaf girl's powers, as far as I can tell, is to see sound. She saw the sound coming from the bass on the street, and was literally playing by site.

Samuel wants to get his brother back. They have a time traveler already, and he looked like he was a lot more experienced than Hiro, so maybe he knows how to change the timeline without screwing things up. He probably needs Peter specifically because of his powers.

Also, when Samuel went to the time traveler guy, the one with the breathing machine, and told him he needed to be sent back 14 years, the guy smiled. It seems like maybe something happened 14 years ago

Heroes is now only good to occupy some time until "Lost" comes back with its series finale :)

I'm not saying this season is bad b/c it can get very good, but I absolutely loved how season 3 started...those first two episodes got me back into the Heroes frenzy after a let down from Season 2 and the writer's strike. It's a little too slow for my taste except for the knife fight between Peter and the other quick fella, but I will keep watchign every week b/c it's a good show.

The deaf girl's power is unique in that she is the only one who can see it happen. Samuel's motive is yet unknown but my guess is that it'll have to do with revenge over redemption. If you noticed the three faces that appeared on Lydia's body at the end of Episode 2 are Peter, Claire and Sylar...I'm intruiged about the Sylar part and how he will resurface.

im very confused about this episode...how did Samuel blow up that house? and can someone tell me the last few minutes of the last episode last season? im confused about the whole nathan syler matt angela thing....
  • B A T M A N · 1 month ago
Samuel controls earth. he made a sinkhole to sink the house. at the end of last season, Nathan died. Matt and Angelina decided to stop Sylar and preserve Nathan's legacy is by going into Sylar's mind and making him think he's Nathan.
  • Heroes Insider · 1 month ago
The new girl's power will be the ability to affect people with soundwaves, depending on her mood. Extra powerful stuff! Especially she can control sound from just about anything (remember seeing her watching all those auras)

If u see season 4 episode 4 trailer, "the compass that change the world" ... interesting...
  • illcommunication · 1 month ago
    Mckenzy,
Samuel can control the earth underneath him, so basically he created a large sink whole that the house crumbled into.
As far as Nathan/Syler/Matt/Angela...hard to explain in short, but I'll try. Syler killed Nathan last season. He had taken Nathan's form because he is a shape changer & Peter drugged him. While unconsious, Matt replaced all Syler's memories with Nathan's memories, so that when he woke up Syler would really think he was Nathan. Somehow, Syler is now trapped in Matt's head, while his body is in Nathan's form, even though he is dead. Confusing, better just to re-watch the episode
  • mckenzy · 1 month ago
hmmm..yeah that helped me! but what is samuel's whole power again? he can do anything with the ink that he puts inside his body?? and whats with claires new friend?
  • lucyon · 1 month ago
Samuel's power is controlling minerals of different sorts, minerals being earth and such. I suppose his ink is made out of a number of minerals and that's how he controls it.

As for the new girl, I find her as one of the more interesting so far in this show. The powers don't always have to be something shiny like throwing fire or moving things with your mind. Like how Matt started out with only reading thoughts, not putting them into people. It was way better back then, now it's all too hyped up and everyone are like superpowered. Simplicity makes it a better show.

The latest seasons aswell - apart from the first, have all been way too fast. It loses all sense of epicness if everything happens too fast. Like in Volume 3 after only 2 or 3 episodes we had a bunch of supervillains on the run and a peter in the future who had killed his future brother. In season 1 everything took its time and that ending was the best ever.

Heroes is back!! I thought last night's episode was phenomenal. They are getting back to basics with good character development, an interesting storyline and the mystery of season 1. Definitely makes me want to tune in every Monday. Season 3 went way overboard with "powers" and not enough about the characters and their problems. This season seems to be recovering from that and getting back to a season 1 level. Great!!
  • mama03 · 1 month ago
I really liked the episode too. I like the deaf lady (wish I knew her name so I didn't have to call her deaf lady) But anyway... I agree that Claire's new roomy is up to something! I love how they leave you guessing! I think this season seems interesting and I love Samuel's character. I can't wait to see where that story goes.
  • navygater · 1 month ago
I agree Samuel character is very interesting but there will never be another character like Sylar when it comes to bad guys!
  • rlht_gerkens · 1 month ago
    Hey heroes-fans,

As well as Nijn88, I'm from The Netherlands :) I "kinda" enjoyed EP-3 but I'm not flabbergasted at all... I mean, it seems there are more questions evolving than answerrs...
Kind of like season 1, I agree with that partly. But looking at the ratings of viewers etc, Tim Kring and the writers should show more action/affection/thrill and all to keep the viewers and attract more! This is a way different situation then in season 1, keep that in mind...

I thought Claire changed, she did, in a way, being open, telling people like Gretchen what her ability is all about. But is that clever? I don't think so. This will backfire for sure!

As for Peter, I hate the fact he lost all of his powers because of "Papa" Petrelli... I always thought Peter was the coolest "good guy" of the entire show. I still do but now that he can only control one power, that really bugs me!

We all know Sylar will be back, sometime. I would say in the middle of this season. Who will be capable to bring down Sylar? No one, at this moment cause he's just too damn powerfull! The only way would be all the heroes teaming up against Sylar in a huge battle (perhaps with Ando supercharging all their abilities)

Anyway, that's about it for me posting.

I'd like your opinions on this!

    Ciao, Remi

I'm personally very happy with the direction this season is going. The deaf woman's (name?) power is quite amazing to me. I'm assuming she's never played an instrument like that before, so that was quite fantastic. I can't imagine where they could go with that but my hopes are high. Claire is still annoying as ever to me, so I hope they go somewhere groovy with the whole Gretchen thing. It's interesting to see the change Noah is going though. Something I really didn't see coming. But it's about time for his character to change. Peter on the other hand has totally changed since season 1. Back then it was almost impossible for him to let go of the people he cared about. Claude hammered him about that even though, in the end, it was this nature that allowed him to gain control of his power. Now Peter seems to be just the opposite. He's shut everyone in his life out. His empathic nature is gone. Samuel for whatever reason is trying to bring that back out of him. Who knows. We might see the old Peter return sooner than later. Speaking of Samuel, I'm loving his character. Such a mystery. It's villains like this that hook me. Sylar will always be amazing, but his character was getting a little old to me. What they are doing with him now is quite fresh. It's a side of him I've never seen before. They've made him exciting for me again. Matt? oh Matt. If Matt wasn't so whinney all the time I would love him. I just want to yell at him, "GET OVER IT MAN!!" What's so wrong about using powers as a cop? Seriously. I can't wait for Monday.

The deaf woman's name is Emma. I also think her power is amazing and really unique, I had a huge smile on when she started playing the cello (at least I think that's what it was, I'm no expert). They're bringing some new unique characters into the show, like Emma with her soundwave power and Samuel with his terrakinesis. That's an awesome power that we haven't seen before. I'm really excited about this season, personally I think it's great so far. My favorite character has always been Peter, so I'm really hoping that if Samuel (and maybe Emma?) help him tap back into his empathy, he may gain back his empathic mimicry, so he can be more powerful again.

In regards to the Matt/Sylar thing: Honestly I kind of like this because it's new and exciting, and I was getting terribly bored of Sylar's character as well, he was too repetitive, and way too powerful. Hopefully when he comes back (which I think will be soon) he won't be so boring. Maybe a few of his powers won't work anymore for whatever reason.

Altogether I think Heroes is going to be great this season, I really like the idea of the carnival trying to recruit people. Honestly they don't even seem to be that evil yet. I'm guessing they have some crazy motive to take control of something, kill off normals, soemthing insane. But I think the good guys they recruit will take them down. I'm really excited.

the moments with Peter and Samuel reminds me of Colin Farrell acting beside Al Pacino, the teacher educating the student. Samuel really reminds me of Pacino lol.

fantastic season/episode heroes is getting back to its routes. I agree with the comments about emma, her power is one i really find interesting and brill to watch. With peter we keep getting hints (i think). Season 1 peter was told he could "love" unconditionly. He learned to control his powers thru remember his feelings to a person. When he lost his powers he became very self centred and most of the future versions of peter are like this. Then in this season peter is refered to as an "empath"and samual himself told him all he wants is "empathy" from him. My guess is joseph was an empath with the same power peter had. Chances are joseph went thru something simular with his powers and maybe samual helped him restore his empathy (being brothers). So samual with try a simular thing with peter before recruiting him to the family.

I really do think Samuel's goal is to enable Peter to become empathetic again. You saw how Peter did not really care if Samuel was on that bus, even though he said that he was. Peter thought the worst right away. Then Peter sees Samuel in the picture and all of a sudden we get Peter from season 1. I think Samuel knows Peter is limited in his ability because he lost his empathy for others. By bringing that back to the surface, Samuel will get a very powerful hero on his side. I think Emma will also help with Peter gaining his original ability back, just by evoking care and emotion in him again.

I'm also from the Netherlands. And I gotta say I do like the new season so far.

And about the whole Sylar thing: he will gain control back of his own body, and he will have all his abilities. And Peter will also regain his power of being the mimc.

Hope you all remember the episode Hiro and Ando went to the future, it was in Season 1 Episode 20. Peter had a scar and was quite powerfull, Sylar still hasn't shown himself to the world yet. Everyone still believed he was Nathan.. And than when Nathan and Peter face, Peter discovers that Nathan is Sylar.

I know, it might have changed. But it is a good possibility of what might be going to happen.

Over all good episode, and a good start to season 4. I thought season 3 started with a bang, but it was too difficult to keep the momentum. The characters drive the show and it was hard to care about the new characters, since most of them where villians anyway.

I really like the gray area around the carnival. They don't seem like bad people. Some of them seem like they want to stop whatever it is they are doing. Others, like Samuel, just want to write the wrongs of the past. Either way, I actually want to know more about all the new characters, and see where this season takes us.
