Heroes 4.12 The Fifth Stage Discussion Thread
At least . . . and is the lowest . . . HEROES deserves 5 season . . . at least . . . the best will b 10 seasons . . . yeah!!!!!!!
I think NBC looks at a show like ABC's "Lost" and realizes that there can be a ratings decline in a good show, but that show can always bounce back.
I cannot believe show like Hercules and Xena can run for six seasons and Heroes is fighting for a fourth.
And the haitian thing would be ok with me, but it wouldn't be that cool!! lol
go heroes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If that is the case then that is why future Peter and Authur stayed dead.
still awesom that heroes will be around longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a genious concept.
However, that being said, the show has severely lost its essence.
Peter's loss of power in season three - just a bad idea. And giving him the slightly lesser powerful version of his power, even worse imho.
Matt "becoming a prophet" and painting the future - what were the writers smoking when they thought that up? I understand the want and/or need of a future painting character - but that could have been avoided by letting peter regain his lost abilities (possibly by letting him meet matt parkman's "touch and go" baby - hint hint).
And Sylar. Big bad ass villain. I love this guy. But where is his sense of direction? I know he searched for his father, and I think that was a cool plot. But it needed more follow through.
Really the all time low of the show, is the introduction of Arthur Petrelli. I mean we already had a power stealer, and a power absorber.. did we really need someone capable of both? and the guy was everywhere! I don't think it was thought through.
I knew he would be put into play sooner or later, and the idea of a biblical father-son conflict is brilliant. But giving him the ability to DESTROY the characters by robbing them of their special powers. Omg, just a disaster.
I'm not a writer, I'm a viewer. But here's how I would've done it; In stead of making him the survivor of Angela's assassination, I would have made his death a complete hoax, and having him be a prisoner at level 5, who escaped along with the other escaped prisoners (along with Knoxx and the others). THEN having him join up with the people loyal to him, and create his own company, as per the show writers designed plot. Because in that scenario, he wouldn't have to steal Adam's power to come back, ergo he wouldn't have to be an extreme version of Sylar. I don't know what power I think he should've had, but one example could be creating temporary insanity, or possibly giving people fake visions (i.e. giving a devout priest a vision of God telling him to kill someone, imagine the possibilities one has with that ability.). But that's a hinge that really doesn't matter now.
Another thing I miss.. where the sense of life and death, that made season one vivid and unpredictable?
Peter, Mohinder, Nathan, Matt, Sylar, Hiro, Ando (Especially Ando) and Noah have all been in countless encounters they wouldn't have survived in season one. (I say especially Ando because he, until recently, had no means of defending himself). Even Angela should have died a couple of times.
I'm not saying klll everyone. I'm just saying that there's no real danger left in the series. No matter what these characters encounter, we know they'll survive. Especially Sylar.
The only thing that balanced Sylar's unbelievable power out for the series, was Peters equal power. How choices affect mankind. Now, he literally has a free for all buffet when it comes to power. My hope is that you either kill him off, or throw someone into the mix that balaces it out. Preferably Peter, giving the depth back to the character. "Save the cheerleader, save the world" AWESOME!
All that being said, I have to hand it to you. Putting Micah back in the game was a genious move.
And thet episode is what gives me hope for renewing and revitalizing the series. 2 fatalities in one episode, a face to "Rebel", Peter and Angela plotting, Matt's child (hopefully a means to rectifying lost powers - like with Hiro). Applause.
I know, everyone's a critic, and I'm sorry. I don't mean to be harsh. I just call it as I see it. I really did enjoy Heroes, but lately the charm has faded. It seems as if the writers have a million ideas crammed into each show, and just not enough time to make it all work.
I'm gonna watch the rest of season three, and give the fourth one a shot. I am a fan of the show, but I'm beginning to think I should've tuned out after season two.
Sorry for the length of this post, btw.
Yes, Peter's sudden loss of powers was a bit disappointing, but if I have learned anything throughout the duration of the show, it is this:
Expect the unexpected!
The writers of Heroes aren't creating plots as they go - in fact, they are probably lightyears ahead of where we are (In plot analysis, of course) at this very moment. This is the sole reason I have always retreated back to glorious NBC, looking for more of the famous twists and turns that the writers of Heroes never fail to provide us with.
I must say, the recent arrival of Little Matt Parkman was simply GENIUS. It also effectively proves my point about the writers' plans - Parkman's first wife got pregnant after the unforgettable "night of fun" in the 2nd or 3rd season (which isn't a coincidence in my eyes), and who would've known that her baby would have an key role in the future?! For Pete's sake, the lil' tyke has only been in a mere two episodes and has already managed to restore a portion of Hiro's powers and save lives! I can only imagine what will happen when Little Matt meets Peter.. Gorgeous baby, I might add. 'Cold snap' deserves a big bravo, as well. I mean, this episode brought back the original essence of Heroes, when any character's life could be at stake. It eliminated both Tracy and Daphne, giving Parkman the drive to venture to desperate measures to avenge his "wife".
I do believe that Tracy will be back. She might be able to regenerate if the temperature gets cold enough - she is probably somewhere in the sewer by now! (Don't forget, lads - she was shot right next to a drain!)

Can't imagine how I would feel once I hear that news.
this show better stay on as long as it can!!!
HEROES, BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS EVER. NBC BETTER TRY TO STICK WITH THEM AS LONG AS POSSIBLE, IF IT ENDS AFTER SEASON 4, I WILL NEVER WATCH A SHOW ON NBC EVER AGAIN.
Peters abiltie seems to have murged into his fathers, but only one at a time and he borrows a part of it? Im sorry but i really think the wrighters need to give them back to him (love the baby touch and go idea) and then have a bit of a fight with the main charaters
(Peter Hiro Ando Matt) and the company or syler,
-Example- season 1, deveaux building.
Peter: Maximum Potential?
Raines: I think he meant you, friend.
-End-
If he was maximum potential, he must now be maximum disappointment. :/
Peace, love, Heroes;

Couldnt agree more ! I feel the exact same way =D
Heroes ROX!
also getting rid of his previous powers and leaving him with only telekinesis and intuitive aptitude was weak! there is also no action, where are the flying cars,non-radioactive explosions, craters kungfu all that like in xmen, covenant na dall that! Heroes was supposed to be the role model for all comicbook movies and series but as i said previously, it lost its plot. With all due respect to all the writers, heroes should just quit!
