  • Dan-heroes fanatic · 1 year ago
well HEROES is one aweosme show, the concept is good, people loved season1,season 2 was not good season3 was better than 2 but not as good as 1.
based on what my friends and i have dicussed,we felt that the following can be done to improve on the show.
i hope nbc or tim kring can consider these suggestions after all what i say is brutally honest and what the poeple would want too.

1.think of a new plot not always the same ones and do not be draggy.as it gets draggy many people complained and thats why many people give up watching it

2.give peter back his powers,he is after all the main character so he MUST have his powers so that he can help people and prevent the world from being fallen into the wrong hands

3.do not keep making claire so EMO,i mean most of us will get tired of the am i still human speech of claire's.she has been ranting on this since season1.peter can help her guide her and comfort her whenenever she is lost, after all claire's hero is peter

4.do not corrupt suresh!after all he is the professor the one who researches and find cures.

5.maintain hiro's funny side after all we all need to laugh too!

6.can bring back adam as he is after all the one who is quite knowledgeable

7.do not over add too many new characters on the show as i can get really confusing

8.put peter and claire in more scenes as mentioned in point 3 claire and peter has this awesome chemistry as uncle and niece and they understand one another best.they both can work together to save the world

9.explain the relationship in details about tracy strauss and nikki sanders

10.write off the haitian as he is really annoying he doesn't talk much and all he does is get into the Heroes way

alright thats all i can suggest.i hope that nbc or tim will consider my ideas.i thought about this with a group of friends before suggesting.i myself is a heroes fan and i definitely wanna see the show getting its rave reviews and stay strong!

I second that.. The writers of Heroes don't need our help.. NBC, need to work out the problem, pay the writers and actors more, they are all very worth it.. This is THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN.. I admit 2 didn't go so well, there was conflict with scrip strike from what I heard, but these guys work hard.. Heroes Season 3 Keeps Us on the EDGE of our Seat.. The BEST EVER.. THANK YOU WRITERS, ACTORS, AND NBC.. KEEP EM' COMMING PLEASE..

THIS HERE IS BULL THO.. IF DON'T HAVE A GREAT REASON please Please please Please Bring em' back, unless they have no part in making Season 3, 3 is the Best 1 was Good too
In the aftermath of the firing of Heroes producers/writers Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander (it has now been revealed that Tim Kring himself did the firing, albeit at the pressuring of NBC)

Um, okay, first and foremost, I disagree with Peter completely. He's becomming too powerful. Eventually, nobody else will be able to compete. People like seeing individuality in abilities, and that worked incredibly well in the first season, before Peter met everyone. I think he should die soon. And 'Write off the Haitian'!!! No!!! Do not write him off, he's one of the coolest characters in the show!!! The haitian is an amazing character who, right now, is the only one who can really make the overpowered characters normal. Suresh is a perfect metaphore for power corrupts, and the maintaining the line between god's domain and our own. His corruption is good, the way they implamented it was bad. Clair should also die, don't care how, the chearleader no longer needs to be saved and she's too overdramatic. I am a teenager and hate that mindless drivel. And Nikki and Tracy don't need to be explained, they were sisters that never met. Separated at birth. No relationship to explore.

Okay, as for my own opinions on the show. I do believe that what you did in season one was perfect. You had the most bad ass villain out there in the form of Sylar, and his reasoning was human, it was believeable and creepy! He wanted to be something more! It made sense! Once that became part of his power, it went down a little, and once he became good... oh dear god... I was looking forward to Sylar this season. Anyway, back to my point. You had real people in season 1, you had the politition, the nurse, the painter, cubicle worker, you had real people in an amazing situation and managed to make their stories real. Even Peter and Nathan's father's supposed death was an amazing add on. Deouvox in particular, that was an incredible story. Season two, the story was still incredible, but people stopped liking it because, and I'm quoting a friend here 'it's getting too dramatic' which I believe is total bull. But it shows you one simple fact, that what you were lacking was the action of a villain like Sylar. Adam Monroe was amazing, he was a villain on the level of Magneto just like Sylar was a villain on the level of the Joker, but you need crazy. Adam is a ring leader, the same as Magneto. The simple truth is, you need to bring Adam back. Bring him back and put him in charg of some superhuman gang. His story seemed incredibly real, and I felt for Adam.

Now, here's the honest to god truth. You need to go back to gore. That's what sinched season 1, Sylar's gore. People need to die, for the love of god!! Nobody's died in a season and a half, and you've had multiple opportunities to do so!! There's no threat anymore! I mean, really, Isaac Mendez was a main character, and his head got chopped up. The thing is, and I remember this as an add and can see the difference in your writing style after season 1, you were going to mix up the cast and characters, new ones showing up all the time. When people liked your characters, you decided that was a bad idea, and tried to focus only on these characters. What this has accomplished is the basic comic book writing tool of trying to keep everybody alive, but that's not working for you. You're bringing in new characters all the time, and some people have to die. Even when you killed Nikki (Which I don't believe for a second, miss 'blown up without a burn mark on her') you brought her back in the form of her twin sister Tracy. Granted, it brought on this season's best plot developement yet, but it still felt holo. And the proof that you need to kill some of the old (I say Nathan, for Christ's sake, he's died enough times) is as simple as Micah's cousin (Can't for the life of me remember her name) only popped up in the vision of the future where she's dead. She has a bad ass power. Too many people are getting thrown into the mix, and some need to die now.

My own belief is that you need to go back to telling the human story, and make it seem like real people are trying to make a difference in this world the best that they possibly can. Makes the story more real.

And, god damn it, make Mat a cop again. That's when he was at his most interesting, and he was a cop for a full thirty seconds before being teleported to Africa this season.

Have someone else for the heroes to fight other than themselves. Perhaps something like the xmen's sentinals and some stand alone stories.

If I were Tim Kring, I'd be on the verge of a nervous breakdown...here are examples of comments I read daily from fans over the internet:

    1. Powerless Peter sucks.
    2. Peter is too powerful, kill him off.
    3. Hiro is too silly.
    4. Hiro needs to be sillier.
    5. More Claire, less Claire, clone Claire, kill Claire!
    6. Kill half the characters and re-boot.
    7. Don't you dare kill anyone! New characters suck.
    8. Too much character development.
    9. Too little character development.
    10. Make it all about Sylar.
    11. Sylar surviving season 1 has killed the show.
    12. Stop bringing back the dead.
    13. Bring back Adam and Maury!

And on and on and on...
  • Chara · 1 year ago
good spoken, Ive thought about that aswell, it's hard to please all the fans since we want different things, but here are the things I think the most of us can agree on:

Peter should probably have his powers back before episode 12 atleast..

It sucks that mohinder is a bug..

End some stories like what happened to the Hawkins family? Caitlin and such.

Other then that it was to much time traveling in the beginning but I really think Heroes is back on track and atleast I love what they are doing right now. It has some big potential the heroes vs villains concept.

Also it would be nice to bring back some awesome characters that I think the most of use miss, Like Claude(the invisible man), get to know the old generations powers Charles Deveraux power and such. But don't bring back people from the dead though, that just makes things boring.
  • Blueruler182 · 1 year ago
You see, that's an issue though. What heroes did this season was get rid of a lot of the drama. They're going for immediate effect only, and that's what's screwing it up. Season one had a perfect blend of season two and three, they need to stop breaking it down to find the perfect thing and just write for artistic expression. If you actually believe in these characters, then the story will be perfect, and if you don't, find someoen who does.
  • Adam Outarage · 1 year ago
    amen.

season 3 doesnt have boring badly acted teen angst drama and has actual action scenes thus making it the best so far of the 3. news flash people season ones ending was ANTI-CLIMACTIC.
  • Phoenix · 1 year ago
    I aggree with you 100%

The fans must exept the fact that sometimes the storyline isn't gonna go in the direction they want. The best thing to do is to wait. Personnaly I think that Heroes has done no wrong and I love the new season. The ONLY thing I don't like is the whole Mohinder spider/bug... whatever. But I won't stop watching the show just because of that.
  • Tojuana · 1 year ago
EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN OPPIONS, I BELIEVE WE SHOULD ALL JUST WATCH AND LET THEM KEEP DOING GREAT
  • Heroes Nerd Grrl · 1 year ago
Go back to the roots wrap up some story lines a little more concisely. For instance Monica,Nikki,Micha &DL. The whole Caitlin affair. They get back to basic roots. Too much is being introduced @ one time. Things need to be completed. Before you bring in new things. I LOve the SHOW even the second season that a lot of fans thought was to short and quickly put together.
  • Jason · 1 year ago
To save Heroes, Tim Kring needs to stop listening to all the whiners and just do what he feels is best for HIS show. Stick to his original concept. I think season two was pretty good, and season 3 rocks. I would prefer a simpler, back-to-basics approach, but overall I think they're doing just fine.

I never had too much of a problem with Jeff Loeb on Heroes, but I HATE his comic book writing. He used to be good (Batman: The Long Halloween, Superman for All Seasons), but lately he is a complete hack (Ultimates 3, Hulk). It is probably for the best he is gone from the show.
  • Maj · 1 year ago
I would suggest make Hiro more serious than funny because at this point no one is laughing.

I would put a major limitation on HIRO and PETER on there power that they can just teleport and NOT TIME TRAVEL. The whole Time travel thing is what is destroying the story line.
  • ye · 1 year ago
Hiro is funny and time travel is interesting. Let the man (Kring) have his vision. The show was always better then any other show, even when people were complaining. Maybe the show should just be cancelled as too many people seem unsatisfied.
  • Cam · 1 year ago
Personally i think that they focus too much on the whole time travel thing, in season 1 it was cool because it was new. In Season 2 it was still kinda cool but was like 'here we go again'. Now in Season 3 its like 'Cant you guys find something new to base a storyline around?'. like maybe they could focus on certain characters and give them a nemesis, like the way peter and sylar were in season 1, after all everyone likes to see people fight over old grudges.

They should focus more on character relationships and power developement, still make them fight but make it against really evil guys who have serious issues, like Doyle, that guys creepy as!

but yeah the time travel thing is starting to get old and they need to focus on the present a little more.
  • Casey · 1 year ago
    My opinions are:
    1)Give Peter back his powers.

2)Stop Claire's whining about she can no longer feel pain and have her work with Peter to understand that what happened was terrible but be happy that you can still feel with your emotions.

3)EXPLAIN THE WHOLE NIKKI/TRACY/BARBARA/JESSICA THING. Honestly its super confusing and I could care less.

4)Lets find out how Peter got the freaking scar and why Claire is evil in the future.

5)Wrap up the plot lines that haven't been finished and move on.

6)STOP BRINGING IN NEW CHARACTERS! KEEP IT SIMPLE! THE HEROES THE VILLIANS. (Personally, get rid of Maya...)
  • Eric · 1 year ago
The biggest "problem" with Heroes is; it's just to hip for the room. People have become so spoon-fed that they have all but lost the ability (no pun intended) to follow something that demands that you pay attention to the story line. The dumbing down of our society is ever apparent, we have become the Mtv generation and can only follow very small portions of anything that makes you think. If Heroes was only on the Sci-Fi channel it may be doing much better in the ratings because viewers on Sci-Fi come in with an understanding of how a comic book works and can keep up with the story lines.
It's astounding that so many people who used to love the show cant grasp that there is a very unique story arc happening that's all due to the butterfly effect.. Peter screwed up and has changed everything by coming back to the past to try to help. We must keep in mind that this is the hub of the story.
In this light, I'm forced to agree with Maj, the time travel arc is just to much for the average viewer to keep up with.
  • Aled · 1 year ago
STOP LISTENING TO THE FANS!! everytime they take on board fan critism and change something to suit the fans, the fans dont like it. i.e season 2 was to slow make it faster, so they have made season 3 faster pasted, the fans go its to fast!
  • monkeyrodeo · 1 year ago
    1. Make Sylar evil again. Period. Ruthless, homicidal, unstoppable.
Namely the guy we came to either hate or want to be. You want to make a live action comic? A comic is only as good as it's best villain.

    2. Nathan's useless. Kill him off, make Peter the politician. He's full of crap anyway. The "Claire's daddy" b.s has run it's course.
Speaking of Claire, give her a real power or dust her. Annoying.

    3. South American chick's gone? GOOD. Leave her gone. I was all for Suresh going Cure's "Lullaby" on her. Speaking of Suresh, would someone finally make him the Prof X stand-in already?

    4. Speedster chick's annoying. Have her try to phase through a wall like the Flash and get stuck in it.

    5. Bring back Nikki. Double the Ali Larter, double your pleasure, double your fun.

And that would be a good segue into...

    6. We're left wondering what the hell happened to Micah... I was so looking forward to him becoming the "Forge" of the gang.

    7. Taking Peter's powers was a great idea. Now, take it to the next level. With Sylar evil again, give Peter his power to emulate abilities again, but have him go on a quest to find better, more exotic powers than Sylar so he can defeat him (or try to).

    8. More sex. Seriously. Steamy goodness. Get your core 18-35 demographic back.

    9. Linderman? gone. Daddy Petrelli? gone. Mommy Petrelli? Now, there ya go.

    10. Give Hiro some limitations, and an enemy that is as powerful as he is; Speedster chick as "nemesis" and Adam are/were jokes. Also, have him run into an entity or someone who gives him mandatory temporal regulation. He keeps breaking his self imposed rules. And yes, Ando must go. He's pointless. Finally, if you're going to make "Dark Hiro" like we saw on the subway in S1, get on with it already.
  • Marie · 1 year ago
I think Sylar is more interesting and unpredictable as a good guy. When he was bad, he killed people and took their powers-Thats it. Its bad and evil but he has no other option in that storyline. No ties to villains, no ties to good guys. He's a loner in that story and that gets boring. Now he's good but not complete, and thats the best part. The guy that can go either way. Many more options and twists with this Sylar.
  • Matthew · 1 year ago
Im thinking the problem this season is that they're jumping backwards and forwards in time and not focusing enough on the present and getting to explanations about the past/future fast enough.
Also the introduction of the villains added something special, i liked the bank scenes, but now its taking 3-4 episodes to form sides? I mean come on, it shouldn't take that long... The quicker the teams are drawn the faster the battles can commence and we all love the battles!

Also the lines are so blurred on whos good and whose evil in terms of The Company and Pinehearst. After 2 seasons of The Company being the thing Heroes have to be afraid of they introduce Pinehearst? I don't get what they're trying to do there.

I hope it doesn't get cancelled before a season 4, but its seeming more and more likely.
  • An Ony Mouse · 1 year ago
Blurring the lines of good and evil is exactly the point of Season 3. The title "Villains" doesn't mean that the heroes fight a set of clear-cut villains. The title "Villains" means that any hero could also be a villain. We aren't having a simplistic, tune-in for the flashy battles, show. We are having a complex show about moral ambiguity. We are having a show where there is no good and evil, only two different opinions about how to best help the world.
  • ye · 1 year ago

i agree with Aled. although i thought season 2 was ok but a bit slow and season 3 is great so far, all the fans are going to want differnt things and no body is going to be able to agree so there is no point in listening to us!! they just have to do whatever they think is right and hope that everyone likes it!!
  • Bennet · 1 year ago
the only problem is the bad publicity..in my country there are some sick people who hate such series as LOST, Heroes or Prison Break they say they're rubbish..one of my friends said that LOST is a reality-show -.-"
  • Kyle Maloney · 1 year ago
All I can really add is that they need go give characters real motivations the viewers can buy. stop focusing so much on powers and start working on character development. don't move the season too fast or too slow, right now its too fast for its own good. so it needs to slow down, but not to the point where it gets repetitive (season 2).

also, don't make everyone gray. we need people to root for and love to hate. there can be a few gray people, but don't make nearly the entire cast that way.
  • Think Fast · 1 year ago
I agree. There needs to be at least one major villian (daddy petrelli and maybe mama too), some minor villians (Doyle, knox, flint or like them), and solid heroes. But some can be gray. I personally like the idea of Sylar being a lone wolf, being good or bad depending on what benefits him and also his state of self control at that time.

I think they need to make Hiro and Peter start to smarten up. They, especially when both could travel in time, are frankly too stupid to have such a power. Either limit this power or make Hiro (and Peter if he ever obtains it again) wiser.

More action scenes (about one per episode or one every other episode at least).

It is ok to introduce characters for small story arcs (2-4 episode deals) as side stories. Just do not go overboard. These can also be things which have people like the Haitian, Claude, Molly, Micah and Monica. It will keep them involved and probably fans of them happier.

Overall, it is hard to say what people want. We are a diverse group and there is no way everyone will be pleased.
  • Serecho · 1 year ago
i think the last episode on the season should not be a to be continue... episode they should explain everything wierd and all the questions allmost like in buffy. Like in season 2 everybody is asking who shot nathan, will nathan survive what happend to nikki is she dead, and in the first season everybody asks what happend to peter and nathan did they die, what happend to sylar is he dead and DL does he die is nikkis jessica gone i mean all these questions is just anyoing i realy love heroes its the best show ever
  • Niki · 1 year ago
I like Season 3 and I enjoyed Season 2 more than Season 1.

    1. Kill of Sylar, we get it he is evil. Time for him to go and bring a new villain into the mix.

    2. Kill of Peter, if not then rename to show to The Petrelli Family.

    3. Kill of Hiro and Ando because of all the plot holes and Ando is useless.

    4. Make Claire evil like in the S3 future episodes because the whole teenage cheer leading raw-raw-raw is boring and annoying.

    5. Bring back Micah and Monica because they were also great characters from season one and two, they should of left Maya alone after Sylar shot her.

    6. Have a flash back with all the 12 company founders and on the next week kill the ones that are alive.

I guess that is all the things that I think that need improving or some cuts need to be made.
  • 311 · 1 year ago
Micha and Monica were terrible characters. Monica is a horrible actress. Sylar > Monica and Micha.
  • saintjust21 · 1 year ago
agree with Fimbs up there. there no real clear WANT out of the heroes fans. everyone is pretty much scattered on what they want.

i say tim kring should just keep trucking on. yes there are some nuances that need refinement such as.

    1. EVERY hero should be important. or at least we should feel their story line is important, not that their time on screen is pointless. this is one of the main reasons that everyone started to hate the 'japan' story from season 2 or the matt parkman & wife story from season 1. they either dragged on too long and or didnt provide enough character depth or plot furthering. right now... we can actually say that about many 'side' characters in season 3. HRG, Maya, Nathan, Tracy, none of them seem to have any significance so far.

    2. I personally love how complicated the show has become. its really impossible to do something as simple as season one. the characters are just way past that. another season told like season 1 would be too small. anyway, the converging plot lines tend to be too complex for the average viewer apparently. most viewers will need bits of solid information in each episode to keep their heads above water so to speak. Each episode should have at least some sense of discovery for viewers, some sense of confirmation or understanding. i.e....does anyone actualy know at this point what powers sylar has? i think things like that get viewers frustrated, we need SOME solid ground to stand on. im not taking shocking surprises and plot twists.

    3. yes we threw the characters in morally grey areas and saw how they deal with that and choose what to do. BUT the evolution of the characters in these instances have either been agonizing long, idiotically explained or as fast as a flip of a coin. im thinking specifically of sylar, claire, and peter. Sylar is good too fast, too quick. we dont see a inner struggle albeit backwards from the one we saw in season 1. I wanted to see more of him falling off the horse and being a parasite again. claire has been whining and evolving for 3 seasons now. make it happen, what ever is going to happen make it happen. if she goes mislead baddie, then do it. peter..it was just the opposite of sylar, it was overnight. no real explaination save for 'the hunger' which was a cop out. honestly. especially since he has no powers now, you know when he gets em back he wont have the hunger... thats one loose strand cut off. bad writing in my opinion.

    4. on that topic. there have been WAY too many plot-holes, shoddy explanations and what amounts to poor writing this seasons o far. the storylines are great, alot of what were plot holes could have been avoided in another feasible to the story way. im talking of hero not being able to fully STOP daphne in yamagato then being able to FULLY stop time and her in the bar. im talking of matt parkman not hearing in his head daphne talking to mr.patrelli on the phone behind his back. im talking about 'the hunger.' and how we still down know how nathan was revived <- cue back to point 1.

thats the main problems i see. there no specific greedy wants of who should die and who should, i leave that in the creators hands, it IS his art after all. i think however it comes down to writing and with kring turning his eye more toward that i think it should improve.

    yes? no?

    anyone listening? NBC!!??
  • Santos · 1 year ago
The internet is full of haters. Don't like Heroes? Then get your own show. Nobody is being forced to watch it. I have no complaints about the show. It is still better than 90% of what's out there.
  • MAMA3 · 1 year ago
I agree with the comments about loose ends. Some story lines just go away with no explanation. And the episodes do get a little jumpy. Overall, though I love this show and I really hope they figure out how to bring back the magic of season 1, but I really think that season 2 being so unfinished has created a lot of issues.
  • Dirty Socks · 1 year ago
Kring and his team are trying, if he's bombarded with all this criticism how is he going to improve the show. He's just got to stick with it, finish season three how he thinks it should be finished. I think season three is great, i know that the characters are really evolving. I like that aspect, but what it's missing from season one is the ability to relate to the viewers. we are tuning in now for an extraordinary story, but the characters just aren't themselves anymore. No matter what the circumstances, no one actually changes or makes stupid descisions that quickly. Peter, to me, used to be the best character and part of the show. He was confused, but smart, and followed his heart when it came to descisions. His power interested him and he felt like he was special, meant for more. Now look where he is, messed up with some unexplainably pointless hunger. That should never have occured along with him losing his powers, he's the good guy, the character that ties all the others together. Now that he can't use his powers it just messes a lot up. In the end though, i think Kring understands the fact that peter is alot of peoples favorite and that he should be the one to stand up to his father. He is still the best character out there, but we need the old peter back who looked up to his responsible brother nathan, and who shared the connection with all the other heroes. So Tim Kring, keep going, finish this season off the way you want, it's incredible. But make season four more simple. Bring the characters back to themselves, they can't all be evil. Find the goodness that made the show and bring it back. Good luck! We'll keep watching.
  • PhoenixP3K · 1 year ago
I would want Heroes to focus more with the characters we have. Permit yourself to kill off some of them more often like DL, and to keep him dead for a good while if you want to bring him back (like Linderman).

The current story line is very convoluted and I don't know what is the problem to solve. I mean in season 1 New York exploding was fresh and new. But now it's the same thing over only now it's the entire world. Visions of the future don't feel as threatening when you consider how easily it's altered (just by knowing about it).

I totaly agree with Eric's comment, in fewer words, Heroes Season 3 is NOT for you're average viewer. Definetly not. And, if they start changing the show just because 20% of the fans which happen to be the ones who complaint all the time disagree with the show.. i feel that its going to go extreemly bad for the entire series. but hey, its all about the money !!!!! isnt it? and besides, is Heroes gets cancelled, we can always start watching the new season of 4400, since now all of the caracters from that show have powers just like in the Heroes series. now aint that something? i wonder if Mr Loeb is now writing for them???

I think clear goodies and baddies is essential, characters swapping sides is fine in moderation, but the endless shifting of charcters to greater or lesser extents of evil is too much to follow and enjoy, it almost becomes an effort rather something you can relax into.

Season 1 while arguably slow starting was effective in building up a picture in a captivating manner by holding back as much information as possible, and just revealing it all but by bit until it comes clear towards the end. The huge number of characters, events, plots, and ideas that bombard us every episode or season3 does that have the mystery and excitement that made the show so great in the first place.
  • Anthony · 1 year ago
The main idea of this show was ordinary people with extraordinary abilities. The show has changed its focus and should had kept its focus on people first then powers second. Do not make it a soap opera. I have seen ridiculous stuff on soap operas that would never happen in real life. People having powers is far from being realistic but the other stuff that’s been popping up in the show seems to be written for a soap opera.

I liked the character Adam Monroe, but what are the odds that a character like Adam Monroe would be the great T. The writers should have placed him somewhere else. T should have been Japanese and not have been a drunk that needs the help of Hiro to put him on the right track. T should have been the one to train Hiro to be like the future Hiro we have all seen. He would have trained him to take his powers more seriously and stop from doing stupid stuff.

Heroes is an awesome show, so NBC stop bugging about it. But I have to admit that there are some problems.
1.Too many plots and plot twists. I understand it is an ensemble cast and they are trying to get everyone together, but still.
    2. Too many" out there" storylines. I mean Peter powerless, Suresh turning bad....
    3. Stop bringing back dead people!! As much as I loved that Nathan and Niki's substitute, Tracy came back....I wasn't all that surprised that they were back.
    4. Like Kring said, simplify the storyline. I love Heroes and can comprhend pretty much anyting on the show. But still, it is getting pretty complicated.
    5. Stop the whole bad-good-bad thing. Characters who are good stay good, characters who are bad stay bad.
    6. Rework some characters development and improve them.
That is my input and hopefully they will change it, so Heroes won't get axed, b/c I will be pretty mad if they do.
  • Estevan · 1 year ago
Fimbs is right, people are all suggesting what they want for the show and not what could be better for all the fans.

Simplify the storyline is a huge step to gather more viewers, but it also can lead others to leave.

I think that simplify a bit would be nice. However we need to be unaware of what could be the next episode. I am enjoying the show just like it is now, but I know that a lil less complexity would suit most of the other viewers. Surprises are aways good and it is what keep people waiting till next weeks episode.

Peters fate is a matter of liking or disliking him, and other characters fate as well. I am one of those who would like to be Sylar the one who takes Peter place after he lost his powers. Buy, yet again, a matter of liking or disliking the character.

To save the show is just do simplify the story so more people will be able to understand it, as long as it dont get "heroes for dummies" level. It would be nice to have "non-rushing" episodes as well. And another step would be make heroes less "American Only" reality. Make foreigner heroes look foreigner. Maya is not a Latin American, I know it because I am Latin American. Suresh is not from India, he looks like a child from India grown up in America. I know that because I got many friends from India.

This last thing is not a "anti-american" thinking, as I have many friends, business and so on in USA, and I love USA, but you make foreign people different than they really are lead foreign people to think about it as a stereotype and avoid them to like it.

I like heroes like it is! Don't change. Don't tell the artists what to do. Just try to see their vision and enjoy. Lay back dudes!

Season 1 had a lot of scenery showing a populated New York and the heroes trying to cope and interact with the general population. Some of these superpowered people tried to do good things with their powers, like Peter. Some were corrupted by power e.g. Syler and some were lost in between like Nathan. This obviously led to conflicts between them. This is what made the show interesting. Now in season 3 the heroes are just battling each other in their own little world without appreciation to their relationship to the wider world. Such as the bank robbery syler and Noa turned up too deal with. The police and the crowed might as well have been paper cut outs in the background. No attention to how they dealt with the attention caused. Are the FBI still looking for Syler? Do they need the Haithan to erase the witness memories. Did the forensics notice that the German had someone run their fist through his stomach. Did Noa remove the video footage. Or did anyone notice Peter fall out of a building. did they call 911?

By the way, bringing characters back from the dead is neutral by origin, it simply depends on weather it fits with the story.

I've been thoroughly enjoying this season. I don't really have any major complaints. About the only thing I haven't seen on screen yet, and I don't know if the actor's (Christopher Eccleston's) schedule allows for this, but I'd love to see Claude return for an episode or two and have a few questions answered. I was really sad to see the firings happen and I was mad when EW ran their article. Has NBC bothered to take in to account that maybe less folks as a whole are watching TV after the strike? Or the fact that Heroes is still in the top with the 18-34 crowd?

    1) Teach Milo Ventimiglia how to act.
    2) Chill a bit on the Petrelli family story line, it's one ridiculous twist away from becoming a full-blown soap-opera.
    3) Focus more on people's abilities and how they use/abuse them. We're watching "Heroes" after all, not "Dynasty." I think it's great how focused Hiro is on his ability all the time whereas people like Nathen tend to get boring since they often act like they can't do anything special at all.
    4) More power vs. power fights a la Parkman vs. his dad, Sylar vs. Peter, etc.
    5) Don't introduce a character with an unusual power and kill them off in one episode like what happened with the vortex guy. Either have them be useful for a couple of episodes or have them be a challenge which forces disparate heroes to team up in order to defeat them. At least the marionette guy was a cliffhanger!
    6) The dog who plays Mr. Muggles needs to be in the opening credits.

I think Season 3 is exactly a comic soap opera, AND I LOVE IT!!!! However, I agree with "Social," because in season 1, the "supers" interacted with "normies" but in S3, they're all in their own world with their own problems. I don't think the show is too complex, I'm following all of this stuff and that's what keeps it interesting, I hate a show where I know what's gonna happen, and this show is definately not it! I also agree with stop bringing folks back from the dead, if you kill them they're dead, that's life! Also, I love Sylar being the unpredictable company man doing mommy's work to get back at dad....showing everyone why he's mommy's favorite! Tim Kring, do what you feel is best for the show, you made the show a huge success before the critics started to but in, people's expectations are too high! We all wanna sit back and enjoy the show, it's not our show to modify, if it becomes too complex and turns people off, FUDGE YOU and don't watch it!

P.S. - If NBC dumps you, go to the Sci-Fi Channel, this show and that channel fit like a glove, and then, you could have creative freedom because then your true fan base would watch it!
  • jar2213 · 1 year ago
First of all, I would just like to say that if Tim Kring is by any slim chance reading this... I am forever grateful for this show and how it has impacted my life. It wasn't until this show began that I actually started looking forward to Mondays lol.

I think that the only way the show can be "saved" (as if it even needs saving... I personally love season 3 thus far) is if the creators stick to their vision. Listening to the fans is sometimes necessary, but ultimately this a show that needs to stick to what it does best: Ordinary people with extraordinary abilities living among us, set in reality (for the most part). If there is one thing I miss, it is that real connection with the characters that was present especially in season 1.

As this season has progressed, you can see that the character development and focus is still there, but it does get lost in the mix sometimes among the many plot lines and interesting quick decisions some of the characters have made (Mohinder for example). At times it seems that this series is moving closer to the realm of a comic book than reality.

However, I believe that a big part of the problem lies within the viewers themselves. Unfortunately, people are going to complain no matter what. People complained that the season 2 was moving too slowly. The creators obliged and created a quicker pace with more twists and turns, and viewers are now complaining about that as well. Peoples' expectations will always alter the true greatness of this show I'm afraid.

I accept this show for what it is, and each and every Monday Heroes always succeeds in getting me to come back for more. I still discuss this show with my friends and co-workers. I still think about it for hours after I see it. I still love the core of what this show is all about and the moral dilemmas and ideas that are behind it. My overall advice: stick to your vision and the original formula that made this show great to begin with, but I couldn't be happier with one of the only shows that I watch on TV.

Better character development! You don't need to introduce new characters, you need to explain the one's that already exist and the motives they have and why they would do something.

Oh, and Peter needs to use his power more intelligently. He has virtually EVERYTHING and the only thing he ever uses in a jam is telekinesis.

I think Kring being hands-on is a great thing. Jeph Loeb is a notorious, hack, he creates mysteries for the sake of mysteries, overcomplicates storylines, and has characters act "out of character" purely out of shock value. With Loeb no longer in Tim's ear, he'll be able to chart a stronger current alone...at least he'll have a chance to anyway.
  • Kyall · 1 year ago
I would kill off a few characters, cut the time travelling, make it more clear if characters are good or evil and get back to the basic concept of ordinary people with extrodinary abilities not 20 people who are all part of a shadowy organisation running around in circles, time travelling, changes sides and acting like dumb idiots.

I posted this in all my blogs like everywhere, so I should put it here too:

    Heroes- Still the Best

I have noticed an unfortunate trend of negativity of late. While everyone is entitled to his opinion, I will now state my own-

Heroes is back and it’s FANTASTIC!!!!

I know a lot of folks complained about season 2- I actually enjoyed it and I had made a habit during season 2 to do a weekly blog on the episodes, sort of a recap/review. I have been an avid Heroes fan since the beginning and I still am. There are a few reasons I haven’t done such recaps/reviews this season; not only have I gotten very involved with the tie in ARG/Evolutions online portion of Heroes, I’m also quite busy enjoying the show, trying to take it all in. I find it thought provoking with intricate complexities rather than simple escapism. Oh, make no mistake, Heroes is also an escape for me and one of the reasons I can look forward to Monday nights and Tuesday mornings. I love that not only does it show ordinary people finding themselves in extraordinary situations, but the theme for this volume of people deciding to be heroes or villains is very thought provoking in and of itself. I like the fact that the lines aren’t clear. I feel that keeps Heroes from being cliché. It’s what keeps me avidly watching.

Heroes was and still is Awesome! However it needs some changes:
    1) Yes, teach Milo Ventimiglia how to act.
    2) The whole Sylar and 'my mother loves me' is getting on my nerves.
    3) Make villains even more villains, violent and cruel.
    4) Kill off some of the boring characters.
    5) Make more scenes with heroes using their abilities and powers.
    6) Theres more action needed
    7) Claire has to start doing something more than moaning and moaning

Tim Kring must want to tear his hair out right now and I truly hate what NBC did to Loeb and Alexander. From what I can gather, it seems to me that NBC wants the show to return to the season 1 ratings numbers but for some reason, they will not understand that it simply can't do it. It cannot be the "first time" all of the time and the fact that "Heroes" remains their highest rated scripted television program isn't enough. So, it seems that the call for "simpler storytelling" is a call to "dumb it down" and if that's what they want, they will ultimately kill the best show they've got right now. Comparisons to "Lost" keep popping up and being a fan of that show as well, I have to say that I feel that "Lost" is a much denser and complex program than "Heroes" and it seems that ABC is protecting and allowing the producers to follow their visions. So, if for some reason anyone from NBC even reads these posts, let me throw in ym two cents...

    1. I LOVE "HEROES"!!!! I have loved all three seasons. I have had NO COMPLAINTS OR PROBLEMS WITH THE SERIES WHATSOEVER.

    2. I am loving every minute of "Villains"!!!

    3. Any advice to Tim Kring? LET TIM KRING FOLLOW HIS VISION, HIS WAY!

I am so afraid that what we are witnessing is the beginning of the end of this unique series. I have this feeling that there will still be complaints for "Fugitives" (because you can't keep everyone happy) and we just may have one season left before it is completely cancelled.
  • 311 · 1 year ago
    1. Give Peter a way to at least get some power, If not his original, powerless = failed for him.

    2. Let Sylar team up with Peter finally to kill the villains. Let him
become the Gabriel we saw in the future.

    3. Stop adding like 20 characters and killing them off in the same episode; Stop killing very interesting characters, like Linderman or Maury. They always kill off the wrong characters. I didn't like DL Hawkins for a long time, right when I started to he was killed, by a bullet. WTF is that. Issac Mendez was cool too. The german killed before his time. Jesse, killed before we knew him.

    5. Too many characters over-all. If we have like 20 characters we can't get good stories for the ones we like. Instead we have to wait like 2-3 episodes. More Sylar, more Peter. That's what most people want and that's what I want. Arthur Petrelli is interesting for now also.

    6. Different season, same story. Claire cries about being indestructible, I mean cmon, who would cry about that? She has been crying since season 1, time to change her and make her tough.

    7. Make all these characters pick a side(good or evil) and stay there. Then build on their stories. No more plotholes, more future painting(so that we have to guess at what the painting means), more powers used. Cut back on the power gains by Sylar, Peter, and Arthur. Too many powers means overpowered Heroes.

Characters I'd like to see removed or changed in some way.

Knox - Very annoying, must die.
Daphne - Annoying. Change her to really love Matt or silence her.
    Flint - Annoying, must die.
Meredith Gordon - Annoying, must die.
Mohinder needs to learn a lesson and lose his powers.
Tracy - No matter what character Ali Larter plays she's always a cry baby. Must lose powers or die.

We got our wish, Maya is gone. Now we just need to lose all the babies and annoying characters.

when i first heard the title for heroes i thought that the heroes will have to face their villians and for the 4th volume maybe thats when we see some of the heroes maybe coming together or some might turn to the dark side. i do agree that theres a lot of twist and to much twist is not always good. like when sylar is related to Peter and Nat., that was a very bad move. i did like that peter lost his powers and for that happing maybe we could see a whole new leader. I mean peter could get a power but maybe not his old one back. I think that Simone should come back to add some romance in the picture--besides her father was one of them and she could have a really good POWERFUL power which could make her good or a nuturel character. i think micah and monica could have been a good story line but the writers didn't know what to do with them. micah could have turned nuturel and decided to make fighting machines or something. i think that each hero or group of them should have gotten their own villian to face, build up the storylines, the suspense, maybe even make the heroes question themselves, and bring in the shocker that theres another company out there looking to build a team of bad guys, that could be the plot for volume 3 and for volume 4 introduce the Peter's dad.
  • smitastrophe · 1 year ago
Alright guys and gals, enough with the bickering, whining and moaning. Kring is doing an excellent job with this season, and the people who can't keep up with the show need to stop watching it. If there is one thing that I absolutely love about this season, its Gabriel. His lone ranger attitude and his possible switch to the good side (or is it the bad side???) have made me love this season. He needs to finally turn good, but also still have that badass "I'm gonna do what I want cause noone can stop me" attitude. it's great! Peter obviously will get his powers back, how he does so remains to be seen. I just hope it isn't something silly. I don't think they need to keep killing off characters, I mean without villians like Knox and Flint there really isnt anybody to fight except Arthur (and the whole gang teaming up against Arthur would just fizzle and become stupid) If anything we need some more characters for the hereos to team up with or fight against. There are so many different powers that they can explore and that could be beneficial for the heroes and the villains. But anyway, if I could write the last part of the season, I would do the following.

    1. Sylar and Peter team up and become the spear head of the hereos gang. Those two together are unstopable. Also a side note, they need to show off their powers more. I wanna see Sylar use his abilities without thinking about it, like if he got into an argument or was talking to somebody and turned something to gold like he was bored and just discards it.

    2. Claire needs to be able to feel emotions (which she clearly still does) but not feel pain. She needs to then get over it, and start acting like the dark bitch we saw in the beginning of the season.

    3. It turns out that both Primatech and Pinehearst are evil and both are trying to "save the world".

    4. The hereos band together and take down both Primatech and Pinehearst, in the process axing Arthur and Angela (or so it seams).

Then Arthur and Angela, both defeated go on the run trying to recruit more people with abilities to start all over again.

    ok....time to fix heroes.
first of all season 2 should've been called season 1.5 because it was so short. and didnt go anywere.
and season 3 shouldve started off with adam killing nathan. to later bring him back to life and work with his father. tat would have tookin care of linderman and maury. no reason to have them in season 3. later adam wouldve got matt to do what tim had maury do. get every one in play and set things in motion (two new villians nathan and matt)sylar still would have takin claires power. with peter coming to her rescue. to have an immortal battle. with pete and clair makin a save escape. mohinader successfully cured maya. and injects himself with her power. leading him down the path to work for arthure adam nathan and matt. so after claire gets attacked her and peter find nathan using molly's power.only to find him with there dad. and thats how we find out tat everyone is related threw adam hundreds of years ago he's the origanal one.

i also like when clair and her mother worked together, he adopted mother, i like that character and she's a good actress, i just think having some ppl. w/o powers shows the realism to the show. i do think they should do a back to the past chapter to show what and who the original heroes (bad guys) were. so far heroes is picking up some action, in the beginning it started out slow but its getting there. i hope this isn't the last season, if you focus on one thing and not have some many twist and turns in the show, there could be more seasons to come, and if thats not the case you can always do the video games and movies

I said it earlier. LOSE THE TIME TRAVEL. Either people get confused by it or people get smart about it. Example: Hiro opens the safe and the formula gets stolen. Immediately people start writing "Why didnt he just time travel and not open the safe". You can apply that model to Anything in the story which could be disasterous.

ok i like heroes my its favorite show. obviously its people with powers like x-men although it isnt x-men its heroes. But i would like heroes to get the point were they got the powers, were they born with them, or created with them? I cant watch heroes the rest of my life, to wait for the answer life is to short so we cant wait forever for the answer. Also season 1 was alsome, but it was season 1 we cant go back to it. Lets Get the heroes together much like x-men in a team fighting evil people. i mean x-men already dealt with the issues heroes are dealing with but thats ok, so get them in a house to live in and take responsiblity to save pples lifes.
one thing i liked maya, monica, and niki, monica was alsome. maya i loved her but i can see were pple were getting annoyed but she had so much potential. and niki one of my favorite characters, she had it all, fight scenes and she was dealing with emotion.
this pple know they have powers so lets keep them for acting like there shocked everytime they do something. and tracy i love ali larter period but we dont know tracy, lets get more background because she feels like a stranger to me but i dont want her to leave. daphane make her a series regular but lets keep the cast like it is, dont add more pple just keep the pple. espically elle and all the girls, along with guys.

    1)Bring back monica
    2)Keep all the main characters
3)More background of Tracy but keep her
4)Get the heroes to fight more bad guys.
5)More like x-men. but more to the beleivable side.

I personally think that they have killed off the interesting characters with interesting abilities before we got chance to know them. For example jesse? What an awesome ability sound manipulation and then sylar kills him and then doesnt even use the ability? The german died from a punch and maury died from a twisted neck at the click of a finger? Bob died from sylar? And that girl who could see the history of where somethings been when she touched it. Would loved to see how that worked but she died after less than 5seconds. Sylar collecting abilities gets annnoying after a bit when they could have been used by the people who originally had em and is even more annoying when he doesnt use them. Sylar can turn stuff to gold, can freeze stuff, nuclear power, history of items, heal, turn stuff to blobs, paint the future but only ever uses telekinesis. The bad guys escaping level 5 did nothing. No reign of terror and many dieing or captured before u get chance to know em. Knox getting strong off peoples fears shows the ideas are there which will eventually run out but the writing is poor and u dont get chance to know the characters.

Maya got some unfair stick cos she was supposed to be key in the virus storyline and the writers strike meant that didnt get completed. Apparently according to tim kring from the box set she would use her power to suck in the virus and save mankind and then die. Therefore giving fans what they want while concluding the storyline.

Another thing that annoys me is meredith. She walks in and hey look what i can do make a flame come out of the palm of my hand. Thats not an ability thats a magic trick. Mohinder as a bug is crap and i loved his narating and him as a villain just aint cutting it. Also whats the deal with that guy from africa? Whats the point?

Last thing now mr petrelli. I think it would have been an interesting storyline where they never showed us him taking peoples abilities but people shaking his hand or hugging him when he meets people or recruits them. Then later these people discovering that their abilities, part of it or if you have more than 1 ability then 1 of them going missing and then the person wondering why. Straight away i discover y maury is so scared of him. Foe example U cud of have had father petrelli take nathans ability when they met again cos lets face it hes hardly a important heroe and continued to be an important civilian a senater. Nathan would be none the wiser as the only person to know about his fathers ability would be angela petrelli. Later you could have had angela petrelli figuring it out that hes alive and collecting abilties just like his sons peter and sylar. Cue big finale and big battle?

oh, clearly 10.4 million viewers isn't alot. Sigh. I thought Eris Qoud Sum was excellent. It reminded me of season 1. Keep doing that.

    1. Don't bring anyone back, no matter how much people miss them. The show won't be taken seriously if you keep doing that. Don't kill super important, season 1 characters (Peter, Sylar, Claire, etc.). Kill 1 or 2 of the liked but not favorite characters in a dramatic (not too much so) and important-to-the-plot fashion. People will miss them, but the loss will... i dunno... "hurt so good"

    2. Bring back Jesse and Jeph. Who's idiotic idea was it to fire some of Heroes' greatest writers?!

    3. Make Sylar snap back to evil. He is THE villain. I'm tired (yet enjoying at the same time) of him being so manipulable. "He did this" ~ "OK I'm on her side now" "But she did that" ~ "Never mind I'm on your side again" However, I LOVED the future episode with Daddy Sylar.

    4. I sure hope you writer peoples didn't twist the plot some way so that Elle is the mother. I saw some preview thing (it might've been here; I don't remember) that slightly suggested it (only slightly :-| )

    5. Sylar and "the Hunter" should clash to see who's the ultimate villain. (Isn't it obvious by now that I love Sylar as the misunderstood villain? I want him to try to be good and FAIL. Mwa ha ha ha haaaa!...awkward...)

For me, the biggest issue with the current season is the total lack of forward progress - where is the show going? It'd be nice to see some point to the characters actions rather than having to watch them bounce back and forth in a schizophrenic haze.

Quit the "Lost on ABC" tactics and tell your damn story already! Mama Petrelli's revelations are all that have kept the show twitching (the the throws of death-spasms) since Sylar telekenetically scooped up the empty can in the alley way... The format of a straightforward modicum of plot progression along with a zinger cliffhanger at the end of the episode suits this kind of program MUCH BETTER than the "WTF did I just watch and why did I bother?" method that Lost employs. (Yes I hate Lost!) Intrigue is the right level. Confusion, misinformation and a complete lack of momentum in the plot line are threatening the future of this TV program! There is plenty of story to tell with this many characters and all the potential interactions. So pack the episodes with significant or interesting happenings already!

    Other talking points:

    1. Hayden has grown up, why not let Claire? Enough with the angst already!

    2. When does dead mean dead? Unless Ned from "Pushing Daisies" is going to join the Heroes cast, give the viewers some kind of indication that a hero's death is for real... at least over the long term... Right now we all expect to see DL back from the dead! Takeso looked pretty damn dead, but all the more reason for him to not actually die, right? If no pieces come off the chess board the game is boring to watch never progresses.

    3. We are in the middle of the 3rd season already! Which characters have "come into their own", already? NONE! When will Peter grow a pair? When will Claire take a Midol? When will Hiro become like future Hiro? When will Sylar move beyond Gabriel? When will Elle don another string bikini? Watching a whole bunch of potentially awesome superpowered heroes flounder in obscurity is OLD! Not getting old, OLD!

I want to see my fav EVIL, PSYCHOPATHIC KILLER again!!!!!!!!!!!! SYLAR!!!!! PLS make him evil again!!!
the spoiler that he can absorb powers like Peter Petrelli - killed me! WHY???? Tim?,WHY?
ppl like him as evil guy-why did they make him good???? and then they fired producers - It wont help, if ya already spoiled the plot!
    - the show will loose even more fans!!!....

why did they killed Adam?....its not fair that lame characters come back all the time - and good characters are killed off 4ever.

show needs villain! Villain that ppl will love! Arthur is not that kind of villain...Sylar was....evil, ruthless, cruel, logical, determined, adorable and sexy, brain-stealing, almost unstopable! and now? spineless, damn it!...
  • 311 · 1 year ago
How is he not most of those things? He is still logical, determined, brain-stealing. He is in no way spineless. He is heroic, and I for one look forward to this path.

oh yeah - Mohinder......poor Mohindy...they were drunk when they decided to make him evil bug-man

and Meredith, have ya noticed - all the times she appears on the screen - she shows a little fire in her hand LIKE WE ARE TOO STUPID AND DONT KNOW SHE HAS PYROKINESIS!

Yeah and they waste the budget on that little trick.

Heroes had an excellent first season and a second that suffered from various problems. The third has it´s fans, but a lot of fans who loved the first are strongly dissappointed.

Well, I could have told a hundred things they should have done for season two, but season three as god as done and the storyline for number 4 in the works . . . this is hard to turn around.

I think they must first return to some sort of characterization. The greatest problem with show right now is that you do not really identify with anyone. Sure, there are FANS of single characters out there, but nobody is holding his breath. Heroes Season One had great moments of thrill, where no great powers were involved, simply because I could relate to the story. Now they throw around sfx scenes. It bores the hell out of me. So get us back the humans. No the superheroes. And let them get into danger. That would be interesting to watch after all.

And once you defined a character, keep him that way. (I needed a full show to realize Meredith, the new special agent, was meant to be the same character as the black-mailing white-trash mum. What happened to the writers?)

I think to make Heroes great again everyone needs to stop moaning and jsut let Tim and the crew get on with what they do best. I think season 1 2 and 3 so far have been wickid and that season 2 is over critisized by people. In every story there are inconsistacies and heroes isnt gonna be any different. If you like the show and watch it every week and follow the passion of the charecters you would know that the show is wickid and doesnt need much touching up. It just needs the Magic that Tim gave b4 and he can not get that magic back under pressure from everyone.

If i was writing the story one thing i would do is kill off a big character to make a big impact someone like bennet so that it causes a emotional cry from the viewers and can i ask please somone help me cause in the show they say 1 of us and 1 of them. Can annyone tel me of another person who goes on assignments for the company without power other than bennet because it seems he is the only one who works for the company who doesnt have powers and i think he may have some and i think he doesnt use them because they made hima killer and thats also another reason i think him and sylar will become friends, why else would sylars son be called Noah ??????????????????????????

  • 311 · 1 year ago
nice I hadn't considered that, but I don't think Sylar took his hand, I think he got up on his own instead.

Has anyone considered the idea that Future Peter's scar is related to Claire turning evil. Like if he couldn't save her some time and felt so gulity that he forgot (remember... he has to feel the emotions to use peoples powers) how to use her power to heal
  • Nutter666 · 1 year ago
Oh..and to answer the people talking about Sylar been able to see the history of things.. I'm sure it was just objects.. rather than people... But if he ever found the knife that Angela Petrelli supposable tried to kill him with.. Then he could find out the truth... That would be interesting because after all the whole reason he has the power to do that is because Angela "Fed" the person with the power originally to him. We already know she can see/dream the future. Perhaps she saw Sylar turning evil because of it and decided to give him that power so he could find out the truth
  • Sylar. · 1 year ago
i think they should wrap up the whole new orleans clan storyline, they just left them there.
then i think it should be reveled that arthur has to KNOW the persons power to get all of it. however, he didnt know that Peter had the ability to take anyones power so just took the ones he absorbed. so peter just needs to touch arthur and get al his powers back. then he needs to die.
second. get back to a straight storyline. i dont know what thing everyones trying to prevent. is the world going to split open or not? or is the big catastrophy the fact that EVERYONE has powers? .. becuase i think the world splitting is more devastating than people having powers.
thats what was so good about the first season, Hiro saw what was going to happen, issak saw what was going to happen, peter saw what was going to happen.
this time its like 'hey .. this is whats guna happen' .. 'no, wait .. now this is gunna happen.' .. 'now this'
the villains arn't right. something needs to change.
it should be like the heros storylines, then know what they can do, but they dont want them for good. have a villain storyline similar to the season one storyline. they all see something bad, and want to be the noe to cause it and me infamous.
whilst the heroes get small glimpses of what might happen and try to prevent it.
    KILL OFF people.
we were introduced to a WHOLE CLAN of villains, 2 of whom have been killed off already.
    keep villains, kill off heroes.

    keep:
Tracy - introduce her sisters [have an evil fire one as a nemesis]
Nathan - hes alright, isn't he?
Hiro - maybe end his storyline next season, get him caught in a time loop with the main disaster at the end.
Maya - Get Her new powers .. maybe?
Claire - make her powers muck up even more. make her wish she was dead [not being horrible] - all of her cuts, bruses, scars, headaches flood back when she gets emotive.
    Elle - i like ELLE!
    MR MUGGLES
    HRG
    the hatian
    Sylar

and all the other cush characters (y)
im sick of crappy 2-D characters who are basically fillers for real badass villains/heroes

there also needs to be some big fight scenes ..
much like the last fight in Harry Potter =P
with maybe one talk/convo fight with Angela and Arthur - discussing the inevitible fatews that await them all - ending with them both dieing
    hmm ..

    im such a nerd 8-)

Flint and Meredith both have fire powers. Maya is probably gone from the show and I'm glad.

I heard that Syler will soon be able to take peoples powers without slicing off their heads. If this is true then the best way to introduce this would be to bring back Monica for a while and let her become a hero.
Syler should notice that her muscles can mimic what she ses's and realize that as the brain is a muscle the addition of her ability in conjunction with his ability will enable him to attain the powers he witnesses. But this is only if they are going down that route with Syler. The most important thing to me is that he remains a villain. i don't mind him aiding the heroes when its in his interests but he must be evil.
  • 311 · 1 year ago
His name is Sylar, not Syler.

i think that with the exception of season 2, heroes is just fine the way it is. this season is good in my opinion. i think they are headed in the right direction with going back and telling how the heroes and villians took there paths. sylar is a cool character that is needed in the show, so for those who think he should be killed off your wrong. now hiro is my least favored character. (ANNOYING GUY) well anyway i love the show as is, i realize they can't please everbody. i think the writers strike is what the real cause of the drop in ratings mostly. people may have just started getting into other shows. who knows!!
  • Sezza80 · 1 year ago
I'll be happy if Maya is gone for good, they bring back Monica but give her something juicy to do and if the characters who previously seemed to have grown up revert back to that maturity and cease acting so idiotically (for example I've been so disappointed by Hiro becoming an idiot, when he complained about refusing to go back in time it totally fell flat as he was willing to risk the end of the world by opening the safe so why not time travel?!). I'd also like Mohinder to actually fully become villain or be a hero, being somewhere in between just makes him really unlikeable (villains can be likeable, he doesn't have to be good). Currently Sylar, Ando and Nathan are the only characters who for my money have progressed with the series. Why Matt is falling for Daphne's poo when he can read her mind is just silly and Claire is becoming unlikeable as she's so icy (plus her wig is really bugging me now, the roots are too light and make it look fake).
I'm sure there's other things I'd love to see but I want to give the show a chance, it still feels like early days (and I'm impressed they seem to have given me my first wish). For me the series only really kicked in during episode 5, it's picking up speed and I hope will improve as it goes.
  • Sezza80 · 1 year ago
Oh and everytime Meredith enters a scene can she please not have her hand on fire! We get it, she can make fire but does she have to keep doing it, it's pretty pointless?!!
  • Sezza80 · 1 year ago
Oh and please get rid of Daphne, she is so irritating, pouting all the time. Matt deserves a better storyline, I'd hate for him to actually get together with her. Hopefully the whole tortoise/hare thing means he'll beat her eventually and she'll be defeated (as in GONE!).

I think the show is fine, the ratings are down because ppl got biased becaue of season 2. tim Kring knows what he is doing, I do wish Jeph Loeb was still there, he is a great writer, but it had to be done. Tim wants HIS show back and this is how he is getting that done. I beleive Tim has a plan so there is no need to give him advice he will never read. The only thing I wish they didn't do was take a week off cus of the DAMN ELECTION, but thats NBC's fault. Hereos is fine, you don't need to fix what is't broken. Last time i checked, 10 million was a lot of freaking ppl.
  • sirkumi · 1 year ago
WOA... waaaaay too many comments to read through completely here, but I have to add my 2 cents worth about the show (sorry if this is repeating something said previously). I think ObeseJuanJacobi (about 10 posts above this one) has hit the nail right on the head - why has Heroes become another "LOST" style series? (or PRISON BREAK, for that matter)

I remember when good serials had some kind of plot resolution on a regular basis - often EVERY EPISODE. Sure - it's nice to have a central theme or background plot running through the entire season, but give us viewers some kind of REWARD at least once every 3 episodes!!! Sure, have your "A" story spanning the entire season, but have regular "B" stories as well that actually go somewhere every few episodes. Regular viewers can understand the more subtle character interactions, in-jokes and plot mechanics that span the entire season, but there should also be something for the newer or casual viewers as well to bring them in!

I was talking to some friends trying to get them to watch Heroes Season 3, and for the life of me couldn't figure out a way for them to start watching this season without going back to Episode 1.... THAT is the big problem here. Unless you're ALREADY a fan of the show, you can't just watch one or two episodes of this season on it's own and understand a damn thing!!! How are you going to attract more viewers if they have no idea what's going on without watching everything from the beginning??!??! And I'm not just talking about understanding character development, I'm talking about plot.

The problems that our hereos are facing now were all laid out in Episode 1 of this season.... now it looks like they're going to spend another 24 episodes running around trying to solve stuff from that 1 episode, with nothing useful or meaningful happening in between. It all feels like we're being led around a 25-hour long maze with the cheesy promise of a resoultion at the end of it all.... which sadly I think will ultimately feel a little rushed like season 1's finale: you had pretty much ALL the heroes in the central square and yet none of them actually did anything (Sylar and Peter hit each other a bit, and Hiro just stupidly ran at Sylar kamikaze style and then disappeared to 400AD).

Hereos has already built some great characters and relationships and has the potential for some amazing plots - both major and minor ones. I'm certain that the minute the series moves to being an actual SERIES (of episodes) and not just one big episode (that spans one season), it will revive it's already flagging fan base and bring in millions of extra new viewers.

Season 3 is ok so far, some good bits, some bad bits, but i think theres major room for improvement:

    1. Get rid of mohinder, his characters a total creep n his story in season 3 is awful, theres no way back for him!
    2. Tracey, shes boring, jus like nikki, the writers shoulda brought back jessica insted, either give tracey more character developmnt or find a way to bring jessica back!
    3. Bring back adam monroe, wat a waste to bring him back n then kill him off, hes 1 of the few interestin characters on this show!
    4. More of Mr bennet!!! HRG is 1 of the best characters, n yet is the most underused in season 3, more storylines for HRG pls!
    5. More funny hiro/ando, these 2 work well together, id like to see more character development for ando
    6. Get rid of the Matt/Daphne storyline, it doesnt work, wat has matt done this season?? Nothing! Another underused character.
    7. Nathan, again his story seems to have stuttered like in season 2, i wanna see more of the nathan in season 1, and the next time they try n kill him off, make it last!
    8. Sylar, hes 1 of the best characters, i feel sylars carrying this show at the moment, most of the interestin scenes are the ones with sylar in!
    9. MORE ACTION! The fight scenes between sylar n peter (considerin the powers they have) have been awful, better fight/action scenes!
    10. More of Elle!! I dont know why she isnt a regular like in season 2, but more of elle, her n adam monroe were probably the 2 most interestin characters in season 2, more storyline for elle, maybe she could be the mother of sylars kid in the future!

we don't need more of hiros boring silly things he does. i agree with you vik on the issue of sylar carrying the show this season. my favorite characer (sylar). i think this is better then season 2. its about time that we find out how all of this came about with heroes and villians. good show. needs more fights.

    Hello there,

NEW HERO MAY BE NEEDED TO COMBAT ARTHUR.

Heroe´s Arthur Patrelli needs a kick in the butt - that´s obvious.
My best guess is solution. The problem has been introduced , which is Arthur Patreli and the genetic stream which later evolved into the Sakhti virus , the reaction is a clash between Arthur´s family members and himself , and the hero required to resolve these issues , is either Hiro , somebody else , or an altogether new hero.
That hero will have to be someone who can shapeshift into vapur. Arthur Patreli can´t touch someone who can´t be touched , so a hero with the ability to shapeshift into vapour among other things , would do it. A new actor would probably have to be located and if not born inside the United States he would only have a few weeks to travel between one country and another , and as little money as possible would be spent on buying his flight tickets between countries , etc. The producers of Heroes created the ultimate opponent - Arthur Patreli. Today everyone seems to be silently talking about the idea of Arthur either being asassinated (killed from the series) or having his abilities removed. ´Sometimes people with abilities like this tend to think of themselves as gods´. So a god is required to fight against another god - in other words Arthur´s demonic element would have to be someone who can foresee every action Arthur makes , and make plans in advance.
Then the producers may have to go back into time and create alternative versions of the episodes leading up to the period where the ´genetic stream´is no longer a genetic stream but suddenly becomes the Sakhti virus - in other words , those episodes might be reproduced with alternative endings each , even if that were not to happen the show is very good as it is at present. No TV show moves as fast. I have seen no spirit as good as that which passed between the actors and producers of the series. I always counted upon Hiro to resolve the mess that Arthur Patreli had created in the latter part of season 3 , episode 7.
But if Arthur turns out to be too powerful , a new hero is needed to challenge him.
I love Heros , and the team who produced the show , and I sincerely believe that there will be a very interesting ending to the series in the remote future. Heroes can be continously produced until possibly well beyound 2015 , if nothing goes awry in the meanwhile. If Hiro can buy time , and Arthur can manage time , the new hero must be someone who can file in advance how Hiro and Arthur buy or manage time , so that the hypothesized new hero can come to Hiro´s aid , either expectedly or unexpectedly , provided such a character would be needed for the series. Imagine adding a hero to the Heroes TV series who can shapeshift into vapour and beat Arthur Patreli - knowing beforehand that Arthur will attempt to get into physical contact with him before he can remove his ability - but too late. The new hero , be it a he or a she , wins but most probably unexpectedly.
That would make episodes 12 , 13 , 14 and 15 expotentially exciting while the others have been some of the most exciting episodes I´ve seen on TV throughout this year. And I don´t watch TV much.

    warm regards,

    H.W.

personally, i think the show bounces around too much. they need to focus on a smaller core of "main characters". they can still have supporting players, but alot of the tracey/nicki and nathan stuff feels like filler that takes away from the bigger story.
the show has only been on for 3 seasons, but already it feels recycled. the storylines are real cookie-cutter in their repetitiveness. i can sum up every season of heroes:
    -surprise, someone with abilities.
-everyone runs off and does their own thing and come together in the end for a disappointing showdown.
-peter loses his power and has to depend on his "acting" abilities.
-hiro (who has been given one of the coolest powers) and reduced to being comic relief when he should be a central character.
    -claire whines and complains

sylar was one of the saving graces of the show, way more menacing than the level 5ers (who have been disappointing thus far. and WHY IS LEVEL 5 SO LAME? how did they not get out of their cells? why did knox need a straight jacket when his power is to feed off of fear ... meanwhile flint's hands are free to throw fireballs, and jessie doesn't need a muzzle to keep him from screaming his way out?!)

the show needs to kill off the pointless characters, or at least spend more time fleshing out the back stories of the characters we used to care about. we need to get to know the characters to have an attachment to them. this season we have no connection to anyone, we are just bouncing around from one diluted story angle to another ... someone help tim kring! send him a copy of THE 4400, they knew how to create relatable characters that the audience cared about, and on a smaller budget too

Everyone know that season 2 was awful. But I think that the show could take a bad ending and continue the plots that weren't wrapped up to blend with this seaso and make it great. For instance, in the last scene of season 2 Peter absorbs a vial full of the virus that kills most of the population in the future. It would make sense that that virus could still be a threat. Then that would open the door to brig back Caitlin at some point. If the continuation of that plot could intertwine with the "formula that gives people powers" plot I think there is a lot of potential for an interesting story line.
I do agree that the whole how should be simplified by killing off a few people that aren't really bringing any interest to the show. Then, they would have the freedom to focus on the important story lines. I would rather have a few great story lines that move towards a definite end result than a lot of them that are confusing and not that great.
Also,I feel like all the hype about the Heroes vs.Villians has become a dissapointment. The lines of who is a hero and who is a villain have been blurred way too much. I know you have to build up to the conclusion at the end of the season but for crying out loud people....make up your mind of who is good and who is bad. I liked thatSylar was finally becoming good after his history as a monster but now that he has met his father he is walking on thin ice and has major potential to "relapse". Another example is Peter, when he took Sylar's power, he became predator just like Sylar....now that Arthur took his powers he's good again. Make up your mind.....Long story short....you guys need ot simplify.

I like ambiguous. Will we be Good or will we be Bad? Good and evil are concepts that help us understand ourselves as human, but in real life humans are neither Good nor Evil.

Things that bother me about the show, and I don't know how they can ever be fixed:

Saresh becoming Sylar in his quest for powers is totally uncharacteristic of him ... when is he going to look at "where the path has taken" him and start to question himself? He was so beautifully, agonizingly reflective in Season 1, and now he's not looking at anything at all. His seeming fling with Maya is not enough to blind him to this.

What happened to Caitlyn? Did she cease to exist when they fixed the future in Season 2? This is the only thing still nagging me about Season 2. Peter was so dedicated to staying with her ... then finding her ... then helping her in the future. Now he has done nothing to find out what happened to her. She should be pissed.

Things I love about the show:

Future-Claire does not think she's evil. She thinks she's battling terrorism. She also is probably doing something about her dad's legacy. Did he die? That would explain why Sylar named his son Noah. Or is Noah ... Noah?

Peter must get his scar before he gets his powers back. In fact, he couldn't have gotten the scar without losing his powers first.

Again, the ambiguity. Is Sylar still good? Still evil? Double agent? for which side? What is Angela Petrelli doing? Arthur? The African Isaac? Almost all of the characters motivations are "to help" ... even Mr. Leiberman's. Do we judge the goodness of the character by their intentions? their actions? the results of their actions? Why won't the "good" guys even listen to the "bad" guys? Because they, like the audience, are tired of being screwed with. It was so nice when the bad guy announced his evil plan and offered the universe on a platter to the good guy. We don't even know Arthur Petrelli's intentions. But I digress.

    My fangirl bit:
The heroes need a battle cry each season. I miss "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World."

Get Maya and Sylar together again, that could have been so interesting. Damn second season. It would still be interesting, for different reasons.

Peter's not as cute when he not as optimistic. The helping Sylar bit is promising for giving him some purpose & direction.

Thank you for nice-looking men in flattering clothing. Especially Zachary Quinto. Yum. Why should the boys get all the eye candy?

In answer to Claire Bennet's questions..Mohinder's power is super-strength, reflexes, web generation, etc. The Pandora's box is the Butterfly Effect that Future Peter caused by coming back in time. Nathan wasnt the only one who could see Linderman (Daphne could too) and it was Maury playing his mind tricks on them. Monica was written outta the show - her final scenes were removed. Tracy is a separate person to Niki (her sis). Mohinder said that he sent Molly to a safe place for the time being. Niki is dead.

    Any more questions, haha!

    1) We need to know the rest of the level5 escaped villians. In angela's Dream we saw:

Maury, Adam, knox and .... well we dont know. I guess that was Barbra.

We know that it is possible all of them where in level 5, apart from Adam. Can we have that explained.

    2) I would like to know moe about the Nikki, Tracy, Barbra thing, cause jessica was there sister to.

    3) GIVE PETER HIS POWERS BACK, DOING THAT WAS LIKE EVERY LOST KNOWING WHERE THEY ARE!!! HE IS THE MAIN CHARACTER!!!

    4) We need to know who is ground breaker guy is?

Much more needs to be done aswell

Heres somethings o make heroes better.

1.bring back monica from season 2, or at least bring in a new person with her same ability (it's a good power that could play a role in something, but never got the chance).

2.have a team of good guys, since there is a team of bad guys, and there should be a huge battle at the end.

3.go further into the story of what the exploding world painting is.
we dont know anything about whats going to happen to the exploding world or who is putting up the paintings all over the place.

4.dont have a person with a really cool power pop up every where just so sylar can get a new power. give them a chance before someone takes there power.

5.don't turn sylar back to thebad side, he's on the path to becoming good, so keep him on hat path.

please put sylar back to the way he was in the first season. He is one of the only reasons i am still watching. we can do without nathan, tracy, dead linderman, maradith, parkman and daphne.

I want to see this is the war episode:

Every one LEVEL 5 get out, and join Pineherst and Aurthr + Mohinder(this dose mean bringing 1 or 2 chracters back from the dead
Then every hero : Elle, Claire, Nathan, Meredith, Tracy, Micha, Molly, Mat, Daphne, Hiro, Peter, Syler? and the African
Also : Sandra, HRG, Ando, Mr.Muggles and Lyle All join the Company + Angela. Then a Big fight breaks out, i would hope thesse fights:

Elle, tracy and Meredith v.s The Fire thrower Guy
Claire, Sandra, Lyle and HRG v.s Eric Doyle
    Mat v.s Maury
Peter, Syler, Hiro and Angela v.s Arther
Micha + Molly v.v Monhinders reserach and machines
    African v.s Jessie
    Daphne v.s Knox
    Ando v.s Monhinder.

I had to use large groups cause i dont know what the other 5 level 5 villians can do.

It is tough to please everyone, so these are just my opinions:
1.) The number of characters doesn't matter, but the number of MAIN characters does. Choose to develop only a few on the show. The graphic novels can develop the minor characters for those who really want to know about them.
2.) There has been too much time traveling. There has also been too many future dreaming/predicting/painting people. The plots of the show have always seemed to be about saving the future. The show should focus more on the present.
3.) In season 1, the characters seemed more real, like normal people. That brought a lot to the show and people that weren't necessarily comic fans watched it. When it gets too sci-fi, only the comic and sci-fi fans will want to watch it. I think that is what has happened.

for starters, peter didn't absorb the shanti virus, he nuked it (ted sprague's ability)

the general consensus seems to be that there is no focal point on the show. there needs to be a core, that is focus on one character or a smaller group of characters. the storyline isn't bad, just crowded. we are familiar with everyone on the show now, the writer's could get away with spending more time on one main storline, instead of all the weaving of multiple storylines they have been failing at.

This season is the best ever. Complexity is what makes this season the best.

Think about season 1, every episode, the storyline would jump from one char to the next multiple times. It was like watching 4 shows at once which I might add actually benefited the show.

Season 2 was cut short and give them some credit guys, they some how wrapped it up nice and fast like everyone wanted so get over it.

Season 3 is where the sides are being chosen. Season 1 and 2 was never about who was good and who was evil. It was more so about aspiration and development of the characters.

Sure you had Sylar as a villian, but he wasn't a bad guy. When he thought he was going to kill innocent people as a bomb, he went home to his mothers house to try and stop it. His goal wasn't to be the bad guy, his goal was to acquire the abilities of others, yes it did involve killing them, but as I've read above multiple times, more gore = more fans. With that said, Sylar sitting on the fence, like he currently is, is what make Sylar, Sylar. So Kudos to Kring for keeping Sylar the was he has always been.

Those fans who keep slaggin Peter for being too powerful. Flash back to what Claude said to him in season 1. The whole Peter is "like a sponge" sentance. Well think about it, surely there will have to be limitations to his ability because as we all know that a "sponge" cannot absorb limitless amounts of liquid. I have a feeling that the little ramble of words that Claude used to explain Peters ablility is all linked in with how he gets his scar and every other loose end that Peter has. And please don't let Peter get his abilities back and all of a sudden have control over his hunger. Make him suffer the way Sylar should have suffered.

Parkman needs to get laid, so let Daphne be his catalyst. Enough said.

Claire is turning bad ass. I swear her hair is getting darker each episode so be patient people.

Hiro just had his memory erased yes? Perhaps this is his turning point and he know becomes the bad ass Hiro that everyone wants to see. (on that note, please allow him to remember how to speak english!)

Tie up the loose ends to shut everyone up. I for one, don't really care, but for the sake of the show, just do a couple of follow up episodes so the ones who CAN'T figure out that Caitlan is trapped in a future that NO longer exists CAN figure it out. Explain that Micha is grieving so is in not state to become anything more than a grieving child. And all of you who criticise them for being too stupid, that is showing that they are still only human. So Parkman not hearing Daphne's phone proves that they are in fact STILL human.

You want to fix the show, don't give away the storyline 3 weeks in advance. Can the spoilers, can the episode previews. Don't allow an unpredictable show to become the predictable show. Not knowing is what makes this show the show it used to be and still is. Telling us that episode titles is only going to increase peoples expectations of the show. I admit I saw the title "War" and got excited. It had better be good.

The show is fine. The generation of viewers is the problem. Everyone seems to love Sylar right?, and his ability is understanding how things work right?, try to understand how this show works or go watch something that doesn't require intelligence.

I only put out one criticism of the show. Killing off Adam was a mistake. That is all.

i think the travel back n forth into the past and future is a bit boring and far fetch. i mean the story can go out of hands. imagine the future peter came back n screwed things up n he is still roaming around in the present. that shouldn't happen if the present has altered the future.

and with all these time travel, it can open up to many possibilities and that is a drag and everyone won't die coz they can just pop up of no where in the future.

the story went back to the 1800s to witness john monroe's power. for no reason, we were still not told how he got the power. are there others during that time? c'mon..only john monroe? so this is a big missing link.

i hate it when the rest want HIro to be the cute character. We saw his character changing when his father was killed and he mastered the swordplay. He should become the badass Hiro who goes all out for vengeance.

i like now for the characters shifting from villians to good guys or vice-versa. We like the plot-twisting. But now becoming a bit x-men. well, i wish there are only about 4 seasons. good movies should have an ending somehow. that way, the plots and story are tighter. If the first season ended with Hiro saving the world...the season 2 or 3 shouldn't have use this again.

So WHO IS the most powerful character? any guess? peter? well, we all thought so. Claire...ya..could be. We think the Haitian is the most powerful. No one can use their power when he is around, rite? Doesn't that make him the most powerful guy? And he should be carrying a damn guy. All he needs to do is show up, bad guy cant use his power and then just shoot him.

I have only seen Season 1 and Season 2, but from that I can already say what the problem is with this show.

First and foremost, I loved Season 1. It was a nice way of introducing people with extraordinary powers and for the most parts, the plot twists were definetly needed.

However in Season 2, the level of intelligence of the show itself was awful. They started with a big gap between Season 1 and Season 2. Thus, the viewer started with "WTH is going on! Didnt he survive? Werent they together? How did she end up there?! Who the HELL ARE THEY?"

It seemed that the script writers implemented plot twists for the sake of it. All these things surrounding Matts father, Adam the samurai (what the hell is an Englishman doing in ancient Japan? And how is no one surprised by that except Hiro??), Nathan/Peter's mother, etc. It was boring rather than interesting. We as viewers were watching just knowing that a plot twist would be bound to happen in the upcoming minutes.

Worse, the plot twists that occured, WE, as viewers, ALREADY FIGURED OUT! For example the person who killed Hiro's father. Any idiot that watched the show regularly recognised Adam as Kensei, and thus knew Kensei could heal himself, thus he obviously was the killer at the roof.

What Heroes needs is a well thought out plot and keep attention to the already many characters. We dont need to be introduced with hundreds of new characters every episode. Let other heroes be there, yes, but dont let them get all attention, especially when you end up killing them off the second episode. Its frustrating for the viewer.

Aside from that, keep some balance in powers. Peter being this immortal hero that absorbs all powers, that's just ridiculousl. I found it ridiculous in the first season, I found it ridiculous in the second season, and I find it more ridiculous that they wanna keep it in. Either kill him, or let him just stop using powers at all.

Sylar, to me, is not interesting enough to get so much attention. For one I find him disgusting to look at, lol, but thats my problem. However, all this killing and how he gets away with it is silly. He could have been killed in every episode really. (Maya's reasonings in S2 were laughable.)

I also want to point out that balance in story and action was good in Season 1, but was disappointing in Season 2. Claire, Mohinder and Jessica, to me, were interesting characters that mainly had story elements, whereas others were there for filler-roles or plain action. In Season 2, except for Claire, everyone was there for the action. (dont get me started on the Peter plotline, who ever made that one up... ill just leave it at that...)

However Claire's story wasnt so interesting anymore and especially the way she handled things... When you have superpowers and you dont make use of it properly (except for the falling from a thousand feet and scaring the crap out of a cheerleader) thats a failed attempt in my eyes.

Her father isnt scary anymore, so dont try to make him be. He's not, end of story.

Heroes needs some good tweaks, but the concept is still great.

    1. Give Peter his powers and his personality back. He used to be a good hearted guy, now he's all screwed up and angry all the time. Make him likable again.
    2. Get rid of Ali Larter... Every storyline given to her is horrible. The only thing that keeps me from watching season one all the time is having to watch her crap.
    3. Keep the action, but give it more drama and the feel like it had in season one.
    4. Only bring in new characters connected to the bigger storyline. Monica was useless.
    5. Actually have the heroes fight the villains.
  • j_king · 1 year ago
I don't really think there is much you can change.

It's really hard to introduce such a huge universe and expansive backstory.

For example -- there's still much to explore regarding Adam: what was his connection to the Company and what was his beef with Arthur?

I don't think there are blatant "holes" in the plot per se; just that we are left with more questions than answers at the end of each episode. I like the speculation, but I find most fans of the show are starting to be put off by it.

There are a few incredible circumstances I've noticed:

    1. The formula -- some people think that it should've simply been destroyed. It's kind of like the pod in Star Wars: if the commander on the ship destroyed the droids inside, the Empire would have won. I think it's pretty reasonable to keep the research; afterall, we didn't throw away years of physics research after discovering the atom bomb. I think people could have swallowed it if the formula was kept under some tighter security.

    2. When Adam got away from Hiro, it would have been incredibly easy for him to stop time and search for him since he was essentially stopping time all over the place to accomplish other tasks (at least that's how I assume he kept stuffing Adam back in the coffin).

Thing is, many fans expect these Heroes to use their powers to solve every problem. When Hiro got hit in the head with a shovel, many people complained that he should've stopped time or teleported. I didn't think he had enough time to think and react (who wants to randomly teleport themselves into the center of the Earth?). However, the human aspects of these characters -- their fallibility, clumsiness, etc -- aren't really portrayed well. When a hero fails to use their ability to end a situation in their favor, critics will lash on to that and call the writers out on it. If they understood that Hiro can't just teleport instantly wherever without thinking about it, then they wouldn't be able to make any assumptions.

So fixing this show doesn't mean radically altering anything IMO. I like the way things are going. It perhaps could use a little love in the details is all.

    Peace.

I am an ardent follow of heroes and was immediately addicted to the charasma that Season 1 held for me.

In my humble opinion, I think what made Season 1 so good was the emphasis on the characters and how the plots and twists added to the richness of the character, like artistic tools used to bring that beauty out.

For example, revealing Claire's parentage helped understand why she is the way she is, not just in terms of her power, but her personality and her stubborness.

The plot twist where it was revealed that Linderman answered to the Petreli's and not the otherway round helped in understanding why Arthur protected Linderman at almost any cost instead of severing the tie.

Now, it just looks like the show is sacraficing the most key thing that made the show what it was, the Character developments for the sake of adding more twists, gimmicks and smoke and mirrors! I don't have a problem with special effects provided they add istead of detract which I think it is.

My biggest issues so far are the following:

Elle was a Sociopath, she had no problem in killing that guy in Ireland on her debut, yet she was serving as Sylar's conscience?

There was a moment when Sylar did not have his power, yet he still killed anyway, and seemed to enjoy it (The Maya Alejandro arc.), I'm not saying there's no way he could change, but the way he changed, just because he found it his biological mother, who told him she knew who he was and loved him for it anyway? Does that sound fickle to anyone else.

Can someone please explain why Peter would open up people's heads when he can read their minds and absorb their abilities??

It is getting crazy and complex. Take your time Tim Kring pretend like Season 2 never happened. No more loose ends.
  • M · 1 year ago
Keep to the original Series 1 vision... make the story based around the characters, their relationships and how they react, rather than just their powers. A Mohinder redemption plot-line would be good here - before making him professor X -).

Give Peter his powers back, but in a more limited form - otherwise everyone else is pointless in the climatic battle (or Peter is artificially removed for the sake of balance).

Don't be afraid to kill people. I loved Sylar in Series 1, and like his development in Series 3, but keep slain villians, or heroes, dead. Trust in your ability to create a new bad ass fans will love. No death = anti-climax and no tension.
  • krieng · 1 year ago
    I like twists and turns.

Create new more organizations to battle and support each others for now and then - the goal is to survive.

Bring back those dead heroes/villians. Linderman should have not been real dead yet. His children with the same power could play some roles on this.

I love peter,& he's my favorite hero out of all them! I love his storyline in season1 & 2,but his storyline's getting off balance 4 this season. I don't want them 2 kill off peter,if they do & i'll never watch the show never, never again!!! Heroes need a leader, peter's destiny 2 be that leader! That leader need love,& give him a little bit of romance 2 spice up the story.
Here some my ideas: (I hope tim read this,& it'll help w/ his show.)
1.)they've should keep caitin in season 3,& shouldn't let her left out in the show. Peter went back 2 a lighthouse where caitin & him hung out. His dad shown him caitin's still alive, & tells him 2 lead the heroes into battle or live a normal life w/ caitin. He marries caitin, but she gets kill by slyar on the honeymoon. Peter becomes future peter,& take revenge on caitin's death.(I think it'll a good idea that's make it's like a brandon lee's the crow storyline 4 peter).

2.)do u don't like that idea? Read this 1. Peter's like neo from the matrix in the serie, but he need a trinity. Charles told him in season 1 final that'll need love 2 contain his powers. I think they should make barb like peter's trinity,& she have an ability 2 control weather-patterns(or animal-shifting ability) that's do w/ this flood. Peter runs into her,& mistake her 4 Tracy. They ends up together (like nikki in the other future) than nathan & stupid, dumb tracy. He teach her 2 use her power,& told her the nightmares he has about the flood. At the end of vol.4,he risks his life 2 save her & the world. He ends up in the hosital bed w/ a bandaged-up face,& barb & claire sat side by
    him.(I like that idea better).

3.)here another. The company brought simone w/ peter's blood when he got capture by the company in season 2,& she escapes. She have an animal-shifting ability(or same ability as barb's).he finds out she's still alive,& tells her he saw her got shot by Isaac.
    (pick 1 is your favorite)

This show is supposed to be a comic book story filtered through reality and not a soap opera of superpowered people. Too many characters are related. Also, a few shocking moments are great but it does need to go back to being more character than plot driven. Season one had some amazing different backgrounds tied together but soon the storylines got repetitious and the plotholes became frustrating to fans.

    What I’d like to see:

    1. Mohinder needs to get his head out of his ass and reverse his mutation. It hurts to see a once-benevolent character become so twisted. At first I thought it’d be interesting to see him become a ruthless, cold, and calculated scientist. But he’s not an ideal adversary. He’s just a fallen hero stumbling in the darkness. Bring the good doctor back and let him redeem himself through the right actions.

    2. Keep the characters *in reality* and grounded with responsbilities. They weren’t introduced to the show as “the one who can fly” and “the one who can heal”. It was the politican, the cheerleader, the clock puncher, etc. The great thing about season one was watching them balance every day duties along with these new challenging powers. If they’re running around freely instead of spending some time in the office or school then we’ve lost touch with the characters.

    3. Bring in David Tennant (Doctor Who) full time. He’ll kick some ass on the show along with Jack Coleman.

    4. Ease up on the time traveling. Flasbacks are acceptable but since the great episode “Five Years Ago” most futuristic scenes pale in comparison to the shocks of an alternative future.

    5. Stop giving Sylar the slip. Goodness knows how many times people have “almost” killed him but didn’t finish the job. Quinto does a brilliant job on playing a villain and Sylar *should* stay long enough to keep making trouble. But don’t give lame excuses to keep him around.
  • Tarot · 1 year ago
That was Christopher Eccleston who was on and working with Jack Coleman not David Tennant.
  • Rosefire · 1 year ago
Yes, I know it was Christopher Eccleston who played Claude and worked with HRG (Jack Coleman). Eccleston and Tennant both played the Doctor. I think David Tennant would be another good addition to "Heroes" because he reminds me of how HRG can be calm, calcuated, and yet very dangerous all at the same time.

Basically get Doctors 9 and 10 on the show (and have Sylar eat the Daleks for dessert) and see what happens. ^^

    Heroes Season 2 wasn´t awful.
It´s directing was a brilliant masterpiece , and the series offers actors who may disappear from future episodes opportunities to reappear. There is basically a twofold storyline right now - one where the spread of the powers was a genetic form of alteration , another where it was a virus. What I am so displeased with now , is all the uncertainty about whether to allow this or that episode to be acessible on the net , or key figures in the production team to leave or who are thinking seriously about leaving.
That´s not good in my view. Heroes is a big project which not only requires the fictional characters to be played by people who work together , but also the producers.
Don´t give up. I know that my websites suck because they´re new and I´m working on it and I´m a bad internet writer - but don´t give up producing the series. The series has an important mission - it has to do with things that go down way beyound even the molecular level.
This is an entirely independent TV series that needs to keep goin´.
It has created a whole new ethical discussion on how to handle extraordinary abilities and skills and how people can share that together in the future. For me , life is a hologram , very much like the lives of the characters on the series. The hologram is there to be enjoyed - so enjoy it and have fun. Don´t take it too seriously - just slip right through it - move through time , not ahead of it. That´s how you take time to your advantage.

    regards,

    H.W.

Heroes is surposed to be different, that would imply not being for the avarage viewer. I have carefully watched it, every episode ad least 2 times untill now. I love Sylar, Angela, Artuhr, HRG and Maury Parkman.
I really don't see why people find it a problem that the script is complex, because if it would be a simple avarage scrip, than Heroes would be a borring, simple nad predictible superhero movie!!!
So people should think about how amazed they were in many situations, and be reminded that the intrigue and complex plot has kept the viewers breathless untill now.
My oppinion is that Tim Kring and all the team have done a great job!!!
  • Brandonwaffles · 1 year ago
I personally think that it's ridiculous that Tim Kring is going to simplify the show for the stupid people that can't understand. In my oppinion, if you're too stupid to be able to understand Heroes, go watch the freaking simpsons. However, the show isn't perfect. It does have it's flaws, but it's still one helluva show! The best one on television, in my oppinion. Anyway, here are my suggestions for the show:

    1. The show has been critisezed, people say that noone ever stays dead on this show. I siggest that they should kill off a few of the main characters, and keep them dead. This re-introduces the threat of life-and-death.

    2. While one of the strong points of the show is that there is such a diverse cast, sometimes too many characters can be a bad thing. I suggest that they introduce fewer new characters. I'm not suggesting that they should not add any new characters, just less than they have been recently. Like i said in the point above this one, killing off a few of the main characters isn't a bad idea, but not to kill off most of the main characters. Only a couple would be just fine.

    3. One of the things that people critisezed season 2 most on was the lack of action and excitement. Seasons 1 and 3 have had a ton of action. The difference between seasons 1 and 3 is the length. I suggest that volume 5 should take up all 25 episodes of season 4. Part of the thing that made season 1 so much fun was the building of the story.

I'll add more when I think of them, but I look forward to hearing what you guys think of my suggestions. Once again, this show freakin' awesome, my favorite of all time!
  • Think Fast · 1 year ago
They have killed off and kept dead alot of characters, including some main characters (DL in season 1, Nikki in season 2). If this trend continues, they will probably kill a main or borderline main character of this season or even this chapter around the end of it.

Personally, I like the 2 shorter chapters in a season instead of one long one. It keeps things from becoming too drawn out and getting too slow as can happen as shows move away from their first season.

As for the number of characters, they tend to tread a fine line with those. A show like this does need a larger cast than most shows, but too much takes away from proper character development, which was and is becoming again one of the strongest points of the show. I trust the writers, now that they have had their strike and a rude awakening about their jobs with the recent firings, will start making the show better than it is, which is hard in itself since the show is already so amazing. But, I would not be surprised if the Fugitives arc becomes one of the best story-lines to hit network TV since, well the first season of Heroes. I do not think we have to worry about the NBC canceling the show.
  • Brandonwaffles · 1 year ago
I'm hoping you're right about Fugitives being the best story arc since season 1 of Heroes. I wouldn't be surprised if it is, either. I think that the last couple of episodes have been awesome, getting better and better. If they continue getting better each week, then even critics will have trouble writing bad reviews about this show

    Here some more ideas:
1.)Keep hiro, but kill ando 2 become ol'goode badass future hiro

2.)Don't canical the show, but please keep the storyline on track,& it focus on main character more.

3.)Make slyar evil again,& let him kill off his igoring girlfriend elle. Don't make him a family man never again!!!

4.)Make claire a badass;but make her into a good guy,& let her team-up w/ peter in the new future.

5.)Please give peter a Trinity!!! He need 1 to give him a little bit of romance 2 spice up the storyline,& a bride's destined 2 be w/ him!!!

6.)I don't mind bring back caitin or simone in next vol.

7.) Explain how peter gets his scar in "fugitives" or in this season final.(Please, Do Not Kill Peter Off!!!!)

8.)Let the heroes also face a big, great flood;& give peter prophetic dreams about people are drowning & flooded cities.

9.)If u didn't bring back simone or caitin, put barb in "fugitives",& make her into peter's trinity. But kill off that slobby bitch Tracy.

    10.)Kill off daphane,& matt have do w/o.

    11.)Don't make anymore sercet evil organizations(got that?),but 1's enough

it just goes to show exactly how lazy and dumb people are now, all im reading is how the show is "too complex" and it has "too many characters" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! id rather a show make me think and have to remember somethin that happened 4 episodes ago and make me say "ooo thats what that meant." the problem isnt the show its the viewers, and how people need thinngs simple and basic. theres nothing wrong with the writing, you have to change things up and focus all around on multiple characters otherwise THEN IT WILL GET OLD. how many people could honestly have of predicted arthur being alive? or sylar becoming somewhat humane?? or knowing elle had at some point had feelings for sylar?? NO ONE! thats what makes the show great...it changes the reality of what you thought was going on or what was going to happen!! are there some open-ends still out there? yes, by why should be they closed up already??? why rush it all...let it develop and just enjoy it. its extremly had to kill off a main character...but i do agree...by the end of season 3...nathan, peter, claire, parkman, HRG, sylar, or hiro need to die off. all in all tho this season has been pretty kick ass, and the ratings dip cud be due to a number of things...not the quality of the show itself.
  • zombieslayer · 1 year ago
some of the main problems with the show are that the writer's themselves don't seem to remember what they did 4 episodes ago ... or just don't care. they spent all of season one creating sylar as a remorseless power-hungry killer. in a few episodes of season 3 they have undone all that work. we now find out that he didn't need to kill people to get their abilities, thus making all the deaths in season one pointless. what do we get, some half-a@@ed scene in which elle (whose father was killed by sylar) ... i guess her forgiveness symbolizes how sylar is no longer the killer he once was, he is enlightened.
and how about the 9th wonders still in publication? you would think someone would have thought to look into that ... i mean it was up to date with hiro and ando to the point at the comic book store. arthur is dead set against precogs, you would think issac mendez's comic books would be on his radar

Season three is great its finally playing more like a comic book series. I say keep it going as is action and drama not one more than the other, just a good balance. I think the only thing that Heroes needs to do is make the season finales more epic and worthy of the build up. Season one just ended, two was a better ending, but still not big enough. Season three should have an explosive and intense finale. Have heroes and villains actually fighting each other not just using telekinesis from a far. Have the characters trading punches and using the powers at close range, maybe even tearing the environment around them apart as they fight. I understand that the show has a certain budget and nothing on the level of a film, but something similar I'm sure can be pulled off. Just have the main heroes and villains in the battle or hey even just Peter and one of the villains.

I have been following the show in Iraq and am enjoying season 3. Personally I think season 2's writers strike was a major factor in season 3's current slump. I like the fact that Maya is gone along with Micah (kid can't act) and the annoying Monica storyline. Season 3 was fairly exciting up to episode 8 with the annoying ONE YEAR AGO THIS STUFF NO ONE CARES ABOUT HAPPENED AND LOOK IT TIES IN WITH SEASON 1. That was incredibly lame and I don't see why they didn't fire the writer that wrote that episode. My only other complaint is Ali Larter. Honestly she isn't that big of a deal and to keep her coming back is really REALLY annoying (Hayden and Kristen Bell are hotter + better acting ability). Liked that they killed Adam off, he was a relic and Hiro gave him the same power as David Blane (I'm gonna live in a box and I'm not gonna eat). I think if they kept with the action, added less cheesy plot twist epiodes (looking at you EP 8), and matured the characters a lot more (is Clare honestly still 17?) we could look forward to a more rewarding Season 4.

    - Season 3 great action with some new great characters.
    - Less cheesy fillers.
    - More character maturity.
    - Stop bringing back Ali Larter!

I think this season has been the best so far, its only problem at all INMO is that it needs to define the threat and the stakes more. My only suggestion besides that is maybe next season could take place during one of the alternate bleak futures and we could actually live with the characters after one of the disasters and see how they try to fix it from there. That season could end with the future being changed, but we don't see how then the following season (god i hope there is one) could show what was done in present day to change things. Something else I would love to see is more battles between a hero and villain. Even if its just a brutal fist fight, something besides them throwing each other into stuff or standing several feet from each other using their powers from a distance.

In my opinion, there are only a couple of things that need to be changed. Mohinder's Funky mutation needs to end, we need to find out what happened to Caitlin, and peter needs to get back his powers. Maybe not even all of his powers, just his ability to absorb other people's powers, so he would have to start over from scratch. Or something. It's just kind of weird with him being so weak, he needs to be the hero, he's kind of the main character for heavens sake!!!!!!!

There should be a big fight in "War". There hasn't really been a big congregation of all the main characters since season one, in "How to stop an exploding man". If you ask me, everyone needs to meet up, and they all need to work together to defeat Pinehearst. Peter needs to regain his abilities and be the leader. And NO, do not kill off Matt. As some people were saying, his ability has the possibility of being so much more, and he could really become a more important character in the future. I'm disappointed he isn't that big already. Anyways, big army of heroes versus big army of villains

First off, why bother digging Adam Monroe up from the grave Hiro trapped him in if he's only going to be captured and "drained" by Arthur. What was Angela, who is supposed to be able to dream the future, thinking of when she directed Hiro to rescue Adam and what did Hiro and Ando gain from resurrecting him? Nothing at all except some convoluted nonsense whereby Arthur could recover from his disability, that's all. Stupid and ungainly. All they needed was a vial of Adam's blood and Hey! Presto! Arthur's back and good to go. Adam went from being a villain to an inept buffoon in that poorly thought through excuse for a story line. Maybe Tim Kring should try reading his own scripts for a change.

Why doesn't Arthur use Peter's abilities to wipe out all his opposition? He traveled to Africa to behead one hero so why stop there? Why try to turn Sylar to his side when it would be more prudent to destroy him? Sylar the unstable ally one moment, enemy the next / psycho is a greater threat to Arthur than all the other heroes combined. Shoddy story telling I think. Side note: if Hiro can transport Adam into a coffin and Elle to the beach without having to be there in person, then why didn't he send Sylar to the dark side of the moon? There's no coming back from that one! He's already attempted to kill Sylar once so why not do it properly and get it over with? Hiro has shown he isn't above a little good old fashioned murder after all!

I liked season 1 a lot and season 2 a little less so. Season 3 simply blows chunks. A friend told me that Kring had a five year plan for Heroes when he first conceived of it but so far his plan looks more like crap than anything else. Hard to imagine that the show could have dived so badly after it's initial promise but there it is and now it's far too late to redeem the characters that made the show so quirky and good in the first place. Suresh a villain and HRG a loving father? Vomit!

Let the thing die it's miserable and inevitable death.

Oh yeah, another REALLY EFFING STUPID plot point: after getting beat up by HRG Sylar and Elle stop to make naughty as if that were the most logical thing to do in the world! That's even too stupid for prime time TV! What about the mission Arthur gave them? What about them trying to escape to safety after all that gunplay in a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood? C'MON PEOPLE! It's called a BRAIN! Use it!

Man this show is too stupid to live...

Writers create magic in a series by telling great stories that are resolved at the end. Character development should come naturally with each individual episode. The bigger picture arc unfolds along with the characters, their abilities and their motives (seen and unseen).

Wasn't Monica amazing? What about Charlie? Why were these characters tossed? They were funny and charming. Every episode has to have some humour in it. Hiro shouldn't be "token comic relief". None of the characters should take themselves too seriously.

This show has great potential to entertain while sending a positive message. Why are you losing your way! When you start looking closely at trees, you lose site of the fact that you are in a beautiful, interesting and diverse forest. Pull back and get a handle on the story again.
